Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Wood.
Hi Rob, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Dr. Rob graduated in 2016 and Dr Jazmine in 2018. When the time finally came for us to start practicing together, we were so grateful to God we wanted to glorify Him in all we set out to do in helping our community. We turned to the Word of God to guide us and to scripture for inspiration. In the Gospel of Luke chapter 12 it talks about the birds, how they don’t have a barn but God provides for them everyday, all they need. And God will provide for us, all we need as well. Inspired to be faithful we implemented a donation based system in our office where anyone can come to get the regular care they need without finances getting in the way. God has given us a gift to help people, and we don’t want to limit access to that gift, we want to give it abundantly to the community we serve. Some are able to give more and others less but God cares for all. It is a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved to do some kingdom building business. One hand washes the other and both get cleaned. There always must be order in the chaos and we have a few simple rules to help accomplish our goals. Our rules are simple. This is NOT free care, every visit please donate. You determine your donation, please consider your budget. Your donation covers your entire family. Even if you give just a dollar everyone is covered. We really just want to care for all the souls that God sends our way, to the best of our ability. It says in Scripture, if you give even a cup of water in Christ’s name it is as if you are giving it to Jesus Himself. When we care for our patients it’s as if we are caring for God Himself. And when our patients give a donation, it’s to God as well. This is not meant to be a guilt trip or manipulation in any way, in fact in says that God loved the woman that gave the two mites far more than all the men with all the riches! It’s never about what anyone gives, which is all anonymous anyway, it’s about the person’s heart as they give. We are told ” Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give THANKS in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” We are mainly trying to create an opportunity for our community to get the healthcare they need, affordably, and for them to have hearts that glorify God for all He does for them through us.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The faith walk is not for the faint hearted. Dr. Rob began his donation based healthcare journey in 2016 while Dr Jazmine was still in chiropractic school. He first started with house calls. When she graduated Dr. Jazmine decided to join in on the journey. Throughout the years there have been many ups and downs but God has always seen us through it all. His glory outshines all the struggles, as they shape us into who He wants us to become, and as He helps our community through our office. Because we wanted our practice to be built solely by God, we chose to never advertise our service, so all the glory goes to God for every last patient we have served. We only grow by word of mouth, and are blessed to have helped close to a 1000 members of our community so far, praise God! The greatest struggle along the way has always been saying goodbye to patients, whether they move away or pass on, losing loved ones is never easy and we love all of our community.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I like to talk about chiropractic as something everyone is familiar with, ice cream flavors: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Most offices practice an a typical and expected way, the care given is structural in scope, as they adjust the bones of the body to restore healing. We can refer to this as vanilla flavored chiropractic care. Then some offices focus on muscle knots, trigger points, exercises and myofascial release. Their scope focuses on the muscular system, the muscles move the bones after all. They want to help the body realign the skeleton by improving muscle function and posture. I refer to this approach as chocolate flavored chiropractic care. Last, but certainly not least, is the strawberry flavored care. In this method we focus on brain function, the brainstem, and the nerves that communicate messages between the brain and body to coordinate healing and repair.
Most nerve signals either originate in the brain or relay back to it. The brain receives all the communication about the status of the body through the nerves sending signals in to it. The brain then processes these signals and data to decide how best to heal the body and manage its needs and resources. Whenever there is interference to these signals, the data is compromised and the brain is limited in its ability to heal and function.
Our office uses the body’s natural reflex responses to evaluate the integrity of the nerve system and brain function. We then test to see if we can restore any interfered neurological reflex back to proper function. Once we know what we need to adjust, we don’t snap twist crack or pop our patients like some other offices might do. Instead, we use a very gentle tool called an Integrator to correct the nerve communication by removing interference to restore brain function and body healing. All our care is gentle, specific, and evidence based; that is what truly sets us apart from other chiropractic offices! We don’t have to guess or go with our feelings to decide how to help our patients, we rely on direct nerve function evidence to determine what needs to be adjusted and how we can best serve our patients! Your body tells us what to do every step of the way, thats why this care is so effective and helps so many people, so dramatically!
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Artificial Intelligence is quickly transforming the landscape of all industries, so it’s quite impossible to know where things are truly going. Especially with how artificial intelligence is making leaps and bounds of progress in healthcare methods and research, we know that there will be big shifts coming down the pipeline, most likely faster than any of us can imagine. However, as a natural healing methodology Chiropractic Care should always have a market, mainly the families that want alternative healthcare. In fact as technology develops, knowledge spreads as well. I expect a larger segment of the population to shift to alternative means to manage their health, as light is shed on years of misinformation through new research validating our healthcare approach. Over the last century, the standard model has worked to monopolize healthcare, sometimes even by suppressing new research from impacting the market. As time progresses, more awareness of our work spreads and the impact our work is capable of grows. The methods of healing the human body can only grow as our knowledge of humanity grows. I think we have a very bright future indeed.
