Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hines.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path to pelvic health physical therapy has been shaped by a desire to support women in ways I felt were missing in traditional care. Over and over, I met women who had been told their symptoms were “normal,” or that they just had to live with pain, leaking, or postpartum changes. I knew there had to be a more empowering, patient-centered approach.
Pivot Pelvic Health was born out of that realization. I wanted to create a space where women felt heard, supported, and treated as whole people — not rushed through a busy clinic. I started small, with a vision to offer individualized care in a calming, private environment. Over time, word spread, my schedule grew, and the practice naturally expanded into the boutique, patient-focused clinic it is today.
What’s guided me from the beginning is the same thing that guides me now: helping women understand their bodies, restore their confidence, and feel like themselves again. That mission continues to shape every part of Pivot Pelvic Health.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most small business owners, the road hasn’t always been smooth, but every challenge has shaped the practice into what it is today. When I opened Pivot Pelvic Health, I was juggling everything myself — patient care, scheduling, marketing, billing, and learning the ins and outs of running a business. Growing a practice from the ground up while still giving patients the level of individualized care that defines my practice was a big learning curve.
There were also the typical struggles of any niche specialty: educating the community about pelvic health, building trust with providers, and helping women understand that they don’t have to live with the symptoms they’ve been told are “normal.” It takes time and consistency to shift those conversations.
But each challenge pushed me to refine my systems, strengthen relationships, and stay rooted in my mission. Looking back, those early bumps ultimately helped me create a clinic that feels intentional, supportive, and sustainable — both for me and for the women we serve.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Pivot Pelvic Health is a boutique pelvic floor physical therapy practice created to give women a place where their symptoms, questions, and experiences are taken seriously. We specialize exclusively in pelvic health, supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum, as well as treating pelvic pain, urinary symptoms, core dysfunction, and sexual health concerns.
We’re known for the level of individualized care we provide. Every session is one-on-one in a private treatment room, with plenty of time for education, hands-on treatment, and meaningful conversation. Our goal has always been to create a calming, supportive environment where women feel comfortable discussing things they may not have felt safe sharing before.
What sets Pivot apart is our blend of evidence-based care and a truly personalized, whole-person approach. We don’t rush appointments, we don’t use aides, and patients aren’t cycled between multiple providers. Instead, we build continuity and trust by offering dedicated, specialized pelvic health care from start to finish.
From a brand standpoint, we’re most proud that Pivot has become known as a place where women feel heard. The stories we receive — patients feeling like themselves again after years of symptoms, returning to exercise, lifting their kids comfortably, enjoying intimacy without pain — those are the moments that define who we are.
For readers, we want you to know that pelvic floor physical therapy isn’t something you seek only when symptoms become severe. It’s preventative, restorative, and incredibly empowering. Our offerings include personalized pelvic health evaluations, ongoing treatment sessions, pregnancy and postpartum care, and education to help women understand what’s happening in their bodies and why.
Ultimately, Pivot Pelvic Health exists to support women through every season of life. If you’ve been told your symptoms are “normal,” or if you simply want a supportive space to understand and address what you’re feeling, we’re here for you.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone starting out is to find mentors you trust and lean on them. Mentorship has been one of the most valuable parts of my journey — having people to ask questions, share ideas with, and learn from has shaped everything about how I practice and how I run my business.
I also wish I had known that you don’t need to have every detail figured out before you begin. Clarity comes from doing. Start with your mission, take the next right step, and allow yourself to grow and adjust along the way.
And above all, focus on relationships. Treat people well, provide excellent care, and be consistent — your reputation will build faster than you think.
