Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Poore.
Hi Beth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a busy wife and mother of three, I found myself always doing for others. At the end of each day I was tired and frustrated that there was nothing left over for just me. As I was looking around the house one day, I realized that I wanted to spruce things up, but didn’t want to spend a bunch of money doing it. I decided that painting a dresser would be an easy way to get a new look without breaking the bank. One dresser turned into two, kitchen cabinets got a makeover and before I knew it I was painting for other people.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Is anything new ever smooth? I knew I could do the painting and the sales, but i didn’t have experience with the business aspect when we began. Learning all the details of running a business was challenging.

Poore House Furnishings specializes in everything you need to make your house feel like a home. We offer quality, second hand furniture and home goods for every area of your home or office.
We offer consignment, rent vendor booths and paint or refinish furniture. We know our customers in a personal level and what they want or need for their own space.
Poore House has a little of everything from mid century modern to contemporary.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My business partner, Gabriel Penfield, pushed me to work hard and get started way before I felt ready. He was right! My family has supported me from the beginning and encouraged me to continue to grow. The ladies that work with me are like family now and have created the perfect team to meet the needs of the community.
