Exploring Life & Business with Boyos Burgers of Boyos Burgers, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Boyos Burgers.

Hi Boyos, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a natural pull toward the kitchen. After working a handful of jobs in the industry, I realized I wanted to build something of my own—with and for my family. The Boyos, my sons, have been my kitchen sidekicks for as long as they could hold a spatula. With steady encouragement from my wife, Catherine, we took the leap.

In 2023, we launched our food truck, Boyos Burgers. Our first appearance was a hamburger cookoff, where we proudly placed fourth with our Cowboy Burger—respectable enough to keep our egos in check and our aprons on. Our first official outing was Father’s Day, and despite a few memorable hiccups, we still count it as a win. By May 2025, we returned to the same burger competition and took home first place with the Bacon Jam-brie. We’re already scheming next year’s creation.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any new venture, we hit our share of bumps. The biggest challenges have been the bureaucratic ones. Unlike brick-and-mortar restaurants, a food truck makes the rounds across multiple municipalities—each with its own rules, permits, and very dedicated Fire Marshals. The learning curve has been steep, and in our second year we are finally piecing together the puzzle.

My background in hospitality—front of house, sous chef, and kitchen manager—helped smooth the transition into running the Boyos kitchen. Tristan or Catherine typically greet guests, take orders, and run food, while Tucker handles toppings and assembles the burgers. As teenagers, the Boyos are getting a crash course in work ethic and the fine line between service and true hospitality.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Boyos Burgers, we believe a great burger should do more than fill you up—it should make you genuinely happy. We pack as many bold, flavorful options into our menu as our truck can physically hold. Every patty, even the veggie, is handmade, every sauce is crafted in-house, and our homemade potato chips—sweet or regular—have earned their own fan base.

We’re committed to delivering the highest-quality burger experience in the Upstate. That means excellent food and excellent interactions. We take orders quickly, keep ticket times short, and hand off each meal with a smile, a thank-you, and the occasional dad-level joke if the moment calls for it.

Brand-wise, we’re proud to be known for quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality. Our goal is simple: make each guest feel like they’re part of the Boyos family, even if just for a few minutes at the window.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
You haven’t truly had a burger until you’ve had a Boyos Burger. We’re happy to help you correct that.
