Hi Charissa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m living a dream I never thought would come true. I fell in love with helping people through massage therapy and now have 17 years of experience. I’ve worked at luxury spas and medical offices of neurologists, sports medicine and chiropractors. Each place was fulfilling but was missing something. I wanted to marry the amenities and relaxing environment of a high end spa massage but also provide pain relief with useful tools like hot volcanic stones with a medical massage practitioner certification. I began by paying attention to every detail, From the cool eye pillow that helps drain sinus congestion, to the ginger lemon water and decadent chocolate after; every part completes a transformative experience.
I owe all the success to God, who led me to the most amazing work family that share my vision and exceed expectations daily.
I wouldn’t be here without our loyal and generous clients who are as close to us as family. They have supported me and my business every step of the way. Sharing with others their experience through word of mouth and reviews, getting gift certificates for their loved ones, trying new things like localized cryotherapy and buying retail from our organic gift shop are just a few ways they have blessed us!
It’s been a ton of hard work, sacrifices of time and money, all the support from my husband, Robinson and days I wanted to give up. But I stuck it out and I’m so glad I did. I love what I do, I love this town and I love all the amazing people I’ve met along the way!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has NOT happened been smooth! It’s been a path full of hills and valleys. There were many financial challenges, hurricanes, and we even needed a new hvac right after buying the building; just to name a few. I had to figure out boundaries that kept a balance of work and home life. But step by step I learned from my mistakes. One day at a time I prayed and trusted. . I’m blessed to have had incredible advice from friends and clients that helped me along the way!
We’ve been impressed with Lotus Mind & Body Spa, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We specialize in making you feel like royalty from service to products! We are best known for our experience in massage.
We are the first in Chapin to have the full body Hot Himalayan Salt stone massage and the chakra balance massage that marries energy healing and massage! We even have a 3 hour massage called the royal treatment that is heavenly!!
We are also the first in Chapin to have introduced localized cryotherapy. This is a 10 minute treatment of cold nitrogen vapors that reduce deep inflammation and provide instant pain relief. It even has an anti-aging facial that takes firming and de puffing to a new level.
Our nail room is quite unique because you are the only client in an open spacious room!
We have a unique organic gift shop. We carry soaps, sugar scrubs, body butters, Cbd lotions and pain crème, bath salts and the world famous organic skin care line, Eminence. We carry vegan shampoo, organic make up, dry shampoo, deoderant and essential oils. But our biggest sellers are the Kozi heated neck wraps and our plush spa robes.
