Today we’d like to introduce you to David Auer.
David, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2020 my daughter Allison who is a wedding planner suggested we buy a horse trailer and turn it into a bar. At her suggestion I located a vintage horse trailer in Vero Beach Florida, drove down picked it up and brought it back to Charleston. We had it professionally redone creating a beautiful bar trailer with a mahognony bar, a kegerator with four taps, LED interior mood lighting, shiplap panelling inside and on the large back door creating a photo booth/ lounge area.
Since then we have done 100+ weddings, birthdays, corporate events, etc. and have a 5-Star rating on The Knot.com
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We quickly ran into Covid where the business slowed down considerably, but rebounded pretty well.
As you know, we’re big fans of Charleston Cheers. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Charleston Cheers is the #1 mobile bar service and the Lowcountry’s favorite party starter! Since 2020, we’ve brought style, fun and five-star rated hospitality to weddings and events. With our cutom-built bar trailer-feauturing a polished mahogany bar and elgant sheltered setup that serves as the show stopping centerpiece of any celebration! We also do regular bar service where the trailer may not be work at a reduced cost!
We have three different Service Packages; The Basic Package is serving beer, wine, champagne/Prosecco; The Step Up pkg is similar but includes adding two Signature drinks and the Pony Up pkg. is serving full bar with all mixers, garnishes, etc included. All the packages include, disposable glassware, Two Professional bartenders, Ice, coolers, napkin, set up and tear down, the custom Bar Trailer, General and Liquor Libailty insurance. Everything but the alcohol!
Alcohol is not included in our packages as with our help the client will be buying their alcohol directly saving money! We work with the client to customize their alcohol selections and do an estimate for cost, etc. Once approved we place the order with Total Wine (the client may get their alcohol wherever they chose), pick it up, deliver and serve it. Any unopened alcohol left over may be kept or returned by the clien for a full refund!
