Hi Leah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Pure Aesthetics was born from a long journey of caregiving, skill, and vision. After spending more than a decade working in the fast-paced world of trauma ER and ICU nursing-and later teaching the next generation of nurses-I discovered my love for helping people feel confident, supported, and cared for in every season of life.
A move brought new opportunities, and I stepped into the world of aesthetics at another med spa. There, I realized I had bigger dreams of creating a space where artistry, advanced training, and genuine patient relationships came together in a fresh, elevated way.
Through mutual friends, I was introduced to Dr. Ken Santiago, who immediately saw the same vision and believed in it just as strongly. Our shared passion for excellence and innovation sparked a partnership, and Pure Aesthetics was created. A place built on experience, compassion, and the pursuit of helping every client look and feel their best.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Stepping into this journey showed me very quickly who my true friends were-and who wasn’t rooting for me! I’ve dealt with negativity and doubt, but every bit of it pushed me to grow stronger and stay focused on my purpose. I’ve also outgrown people along the way. As my vision expanded, not everyone could come with me, and that was a hard but necessary part of leveling up. One of the biggest challenges was transitioning from a background rooted in medicine to the world of business ownership. There were countless learning experiences, moments of trial and error, and times where I had to rebuild my confidence in a completely different arena. Every struggle shaped Pure Aesthetics and the leader I am today.
We’ve been impressed with Pure Aesthetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that mentorship rarely happens by accident-you have to be intentional. Start by putting yourself in the rooms where the people you want to learn from are. Conferences, trainings, industry events, business groups, and online communities can open doors you didn’t know existed.
Be clear about your goals and what your looking for. Mentors are drawn to people who show initiative, growth potential, and genuine willingness to learn. Don’t be afraid to reach out, ask questions, or invest in relationships that help you level up.
When it comes to networking, treat it less like collecting contacts and more like building meaningful connections. And finally, stay open to the unexpected. Sometimes the best mentors come from mutual friends, chance conversations, or people who simply recognize your vision and believe in it before anyone else does.
