Hi Rachuel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Jade Hair Salon shortly after having my oldest daughter. Becoming a mother completely reshaped the way I saw myself and my future. It pushed me to show up for my own dreams, not just for me, but to model what confidence, courage, and self-belief look like. Pursuing this long-held vision of owning a salon felt like the most powerful way to show her that her possibilities are limitless.
Naming the salon after her was intentional—it’s my everyday reminder of why I started and who I’m striving to inspire. Jade Hair Salon is, in many ways, a love letter to her. It represents the idea that what I’ve created is only the foundation, and that her potential reaches far beyond anything I’ve accomplished.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship can be incredibly lonely at times—the vision is yours and yours alone, so there are moments when you’re moving forward fueled only by a dream. I’ve had to figure out so much on my own, and one of the biggest challenges has been finding stylists who truly align with the culture, values, and level of care I’m building. Not everyone is the right fit, and learning to navigate that has taken time and patience. But each obstacle has pushed me to grow, and every step has reinforced why I started in the first place.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jade Hair Salon?
My journey with natural hair began long before I ever picked up a comb professionally. Growing up, I learned that hair is so much more than style—it’s identity, confidence, and culture all woven together. Natural hair is the hair God gave you, and there is something incredibly powerful about embracing it fully. Over the years, that appreciation grew into a true passion for helping others celebrate, honor, and care for their own textures. What started as love has grown into purpose.
At Jade Hair Salon, our mission is to create a peaceful, welcoming space where clients can relax, feel seen, feel heard, and leave feeling renewed. We specialize in natural hair care, focusing on healthy practices that allow your curls, coils, and kinks to thrive. Every service is rooted in the belief that your natural beauty deserves to be nurtured and celebrated.

What I’m most proud of is seeing the transformation in my clients—not just in their hair, but in how they feel about themselves. Watching someone embrace their natural beauty, gain confidence, and walk out of the salon radiating joy is the greatest reward and the reason I continue this work every day.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory has to be the day my little sister was born. She’s 11 years younger than me, and I still remember staying at the hospital with my mom, feeling so excited to meet her. When we got home, her crib was right in my room, and I loved having her so close. Growing up, my role felt more motherly at times because of our age gap, but over the years, our relationship has shifted—she has become one of my best friends.
