Hi Julianna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Party Barn Play Adventure has been a dream of mine since my oldest child, Asher (5), was little. During those years as a stay-at-home mom, I cherished every moment, but it could also feel lonely at times — especially when my husband, a lineman, was away working storms. I wanted to create a place where parents could connect and little ones could play safely, rain or shine.
In Kershaw County, there weren’t many spaces designed specifically for young children, and when the weather didn’t cooperate, the park just wasn’t an option. That’s where the idea for Party Barn was born — a bright, welcoming space where families could gather, play, and make memories together.
We started our journey with inflatable rentals, which helped us grow into what Party Barn Play Adventure is today — an indoor playground and community hub built with love, laughter, and connection at its heart.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a pretty smooth transition opening. Our community has been so supportive of our small business and we’ve even had some local small businesses sponsor different play areas in the playroom! One of the most difficult parts has been spreading our name enough around our town and local cities!
We had some business background with our inflatable business. We also moved into a beautiful newly renovated space in downtown Camden, which made the process of moving in quick and seamless.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Party Barn Play Adventure?
We are an indoor playground in downtown Camden, South Carolina. We specialize in open play and private birthday parties. We have designated areas for infants and toddlers as well as a climb on structure, pretend play areas, and a few games for the older kids as well. We specialize in ages 7 and under, but we do welcome all ages to come in and play. We are open to the public Tuesday through Friday and our hours vary on the weekends due to our birthday parties. We are a fun place to hang out, have play dates, and meet new friends! Our space can be rented Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays for private birthday parties.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would be going to the mountains with my parents and younger siblings. Our favorite spot to visit was Chimney Rock, North Carolina. We loved to go exploring on the trails and go gym mining afterwards.
