Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Thomas.
Hi Bethany , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started dancing at the age of three. I trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and twirling. I always dreamed as a little girl of having my own studio one day. in 2017, I became a certified barre instructor. I fell more in love with movement and the beauty of working out in a room full of clients moving together. I decided to create my own brand and cultivate a culture centered around the love of fitness and movement, with an emphasis on community and supporting one another. That is how Relevé on Main was born. We opened in September 2025.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to any dream definitely comes with struggles and obstacles; how we choose to navigate the journey truly makes all the difference. Getting to this point definitely had obstacles and closed doors. I take all of the valuable life lessons with me as I continue to grow the Relevé team and community.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Relevé on Main is a barre and Pilates studio in the heart of downtown Fort Mill. We specialize in low-impact, powerful workouts that sculpt, tone, increase heart rate, and leave clients feeling stronger physically and mentally. We are known for our community vibe that is evident the moment the clients walk in our door. Our lobby is warm and inviting, and our team is the best around. We are committed to excellence and providing a true boutique fitness experience, every class, every time. We are set apart because we are grounded in the basics – a killer workout and a connected community. That’s why our motto is Move, Rise, Belong.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Taking a risk by creating the Relevé brand was rooted in purpose. My vision is to bring clients together not only in the studio, but beyond. The bond formed between clients at Relevé travels outside of our walls and continues into the community. This dream has been in my heart for a lifetime, so I decided to take a leap and put the dream into action! My prayer is for clients to grow physically and mentally stronger, make meaningful friendships and connections, and carry the Relevé motto with them into their homes and communities.
During my year as Mrs. South Carolina 2023, my directors gave me a card with an inspirational quote that read ‘the only thing you regret at the end of life is the thing you didn’t do’. I still have the card on the counter at my bathroom sink so that I see it daily. The rewards of Relevé outweigh the risks, and I hope others see the vision and join our community.
