Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Conway.
Hi Kate, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into entrepreneurship began somewhat unexpectedly. I was first introduced to the marketing industry through a previous job, but creativity has always been a part of who I am. I come from a family of photographers, artists, and entrepreneurs, so creating has always felt natural to me. For a long time, I was searching for my “purpose,” that sense of where I was meant to be and eventually realized I could build it myself.
That’s when I launched Conway Creative, a namesake brand that now allows me to work with an incredible variety of clients from local health and wellness studios to artists, real estate professionals, interior designers, and authors. Over time, my love for storytelling and capturing meaningful moments expanded into a second branch of my work: Conway Everlasting, where I became one of the first wedding content creators in Charleston and discovered a part of the industry that truly needed what I had to offer. Both sides of my business give me the chance to connect deeply with people, tell their stories authentically, and create something that lasts, whether it’s a brand presence or a moment in time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any road in entrepreneurship is truly smooth, and I’ve learned quickly that you can’t do it alone. My family and friends have been there from the very beginning and I’m deeply grateful for their support and encouragement over the years. Connecting with other creatives in the community has also been invaluable, whether it’s brainstorming ideas, sharing experiences, or just connecting with someone who “gets it.” Their support keeps me grounded and makes the ups and downs feel more manageable.
In contrast, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the past two years is that when you start a business, there are moments when it really is just you. Every success, every challenge, and every late night falls on your shoulders. When the work needs to get done, it doesn’t matter if you’re on “vacation,” sick, or exhausted; you are the one responsible for keeping things moving. It has been one of the hardest adjustments, but also one of the most rewarding. It has taught me resilience, self-reliance, and the importance of showing up for yourself every single day.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Through Conway Creative, I specialize in social media management and content creation for a variety of brands across Charleston. My work centers on helping clients tell their stories authentically, strengthen their online presence, and connect meaningfully with their audiences. I love taking a brand’s vision and translating it into visual content and strategy that feels genuine and human.
Conway Everlasting is my wedding content creation business, born from the same love for storytelling that drives Conway Creative. My focus is on capturing moments that couples often don’t see themselves — the candid, in-between moments, the genuine emotions, and the little details that make their day uniquely theirs. I aim to create content that allows couples to relive their wedding day long after the celebrations are over, whether through short-form videos for social media, highlight reels, or a camera roll full of moments that tell their story in a modern, authentic way.
What I am most proud of is the trust my clients place in me, whether it is managing the voice of their business or documenting one of the most important days of their lives. What sets me apart is my ability to see both the strategy and the sentiment behind every piece of content. I try to approach every project with creativity and intention, balancing the artistic side with the structure it takes to tell a great story.
