Hi Chrissy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Making a pivot after 35 is no easy task. Pivoting at all is no easy task, but I’ve learned it’s important to master, sooner than later. My entrepreneur story begins in Denver, CO where I stared my first business. It was a cosmetic business call “Elevation Cosmetics” and I became very succeeding for 4 years. My buildings grew but it was more I needed to learn. I closed my business and went back to corporate working in Finance until 2023. I moved to Charleston, Sc with a one year contract and fell in love with the city. I loved being so close to the water and such rich history and nature. It was so refreshing being from Atlanta, Ga and the city. With my background in finance and entrepreneurship, I got into property management, which required me to become a notary. Being new to the city, I wanted a way to connect and get to know other business professionals. And that’s how “The South Carolina Notary Company” was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road ? Absolutely not! Being the only 24 hour Mobile Notary company in the West Ashley area, as well as juggling a 9-5, and being the only employee in my company right now required it of time management , balance, a positive attitude and a well used calendar.

The full name of my business is “The South Carolina Notary Company, llc “ and you should know that prompt and quality work can be delivered, even beyond business hours. We specialize in notarizing documents, serve as an impartial witness to documents by administering oaths and affirmations, taking affidavits, and taking acknowledgments, such as for deeds and wills. We also perform marriage ceremonies within the state and execute other authorized acts like attestations, jurats, verifications of fact, and signature witnessing. We are most know for notarizing documents , and administering oaths. I enjoy the occasional marriage ceremony, those are always fun. What sets us apart is that we are in fact a 24 hour business but by appointment only , because remember the calendar lol You gotta stay balanced. SC Notary Co. is most proud to have signed 2 major contracts with companies as their contracted notary within our first month of business, really opening up doors to network and build great relationships within the community. I want the readers to know that not only is The SC Notary Co. reliable and efficient, but also here for community. We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as the ability or having the intestinal fortified that’s a big long word for endurance lol to keep going, and growing, even through mistakes, trials and tribulations. The road to success can seem long and daunting at times, but you have to remember why you started on your path. You have to truly accept all that comes with your journey because it’s just that. YOUR JORNEY. You can make it as beautiful or challenging as you perceive it to be. JUST DONT QUIT!
