Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachelle Settle.
Hi Rachelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began traveling internationally in my teens. During college, I spent six months studying and traveling in Australia and New Zealand. As an adult, I continued exploring the world and have been to 33 states, 39 countries on 5 continents.
Prior to becoming a travel consultant, I worked for 10 years in Corporate Financial Planning before deciding to stay at home with my two daughters.
I started Wanderlove Travel 9 years ago to combine of my love of travel, my business background and my desire to positively impact the world one traveler at a time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business from scratch is a challenge. Not only was I learning about becoming a travel advisor, but also how to be a business owner – working IN the business and ON the business and trying to wear too many hats.
The travel business is a pipeline business. The trips I plan today may not pay out for months or in some cases over a year from now. It takes a good 18 months to build a steady stream of income.
Just as I had grown the business enough to have a consistent income, Covid hit. I had to basically start all over as the world began to reopen. Thankfully, I had diversified my business between cruises, all-inclusive resorts and European travel. I was able to focus on the destinations that were allowing tourists while I waited for travel to fully reopen.

I own and operate Wanderlove Travel. We provide international travel experiences centered around what you love. We plan vacations for individuals, couples, families and groups. From ocean and river cruises to all-inclusive vacations to Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America to fully customized trips to Europe and beyond.
I’m proud of our over 125 five star Google reviews. We’ve been awarded the Circle of Excellence award six of the last seven years. The majority of our business is referral based and a referral is the highest form of compliment we can receive.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Spending time with the people I love – specifically my daughters, my boyfriend and my close friends.
