Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriane Maxwell, LMP RMT.
Hi Adriane, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey with One Healing Touch began with a deep desire to help women find peace in their bodies and minds — because I’ve lived through the overwhelm myself. Before becoming a massage therapist and Reiki Master, I spent years in high-stress roles, constantly giving but rarely pausing to receive. Over time, I saw how that disconnection from self creates exhaustion and imbalance, both physically and emotionally.
Massage and Reiki became my personal reset — a way to quiet the noise, come home to myself, and realign with what truly matters. That transformation inspired me to create One Healing Touch, a safe space in North Charleston where women can do the same.
Today, I specialize in helping women in high-stress professions release tension, reconnect with their inner calm, and realign their energy through customized massage and Reiki sessions. My approach is simple but intentional: meet each client where they are and guide them toward balance, one session at a time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced plenty of challenges — especially during the height of COVID, when I had to close my doors for a while. As a hands-on healing practice, that pause was tough. My work depends on connection and presence, so not being able to serve my clients in person was incredibly difficult.
Beyond that, growing as a solo practitioner with a limited budget has had its own learning curve. Every decision — from marketing to supplies to technology — had to be made with intention. There’s no large team or big budget behind One Healing Touch, just me balancing the practical side of running a business with the heart-centered work of helping women heal.
Still, those challenges have shaped me. They’ve taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of staying aligned with my mission — to create a calm, nurturing space where women can reset, reconnect, and realign.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
One Healing Touch is a massage and Reiki studio in North Charleston designed to help women in high-stress roles find balance again — body, mind, and energy. I specialize in combining therapeutic massage with Reiki energy work to create sessions that don’t just relax the body but also restore inner calm and clarity.
What sets One Healing Touch apart is the experience. Every session is personalized — whether someone needs to ease tension, process emotions, or simply find quiet space to breathe again. My approach follows a simple roadmap I call Reset → Reconnect → Realign. It’s about helping clients soften what they’ve been holding onto, reconnect with themselves, and realign with how they want to feel moving forward.
Brand-wise, I’m proud that One Healing Touch has become known as a safe, nurturing space for women who give so much of themselves every day. The studio isn’t about luxury or escape — it’s about meaningful care that helps women show up for their lives with more peace, presence, and ease.
I want readers to know that this work goes beyond massage — it’s about restoration on every level. Whether through a single session, ongoing membership, or Reiki training, every experience at One Healing Touch is designed to support sustainable well-being and genuine self-connection.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see a continued shift toward deeper, more intentional forms of care. People are realizing that true well-being goes far beyond surface-level self-care or quick fixes. They’re craving real connection — both with themselves and with others — and a more holistic approach to health that honors the mind, body, and energy as one.
As we move away from the constant noise of social media and superficial “connection,” I believe more people will be drawn to spaces that feel genuine and grounding. That’s where massage and energy work really shine — they allow people to slow down, reconnect, and listen to what their bodies and emotions are trying to say.
I also think we’ll see a rise in integrated wellness — where massage, Reiki, mindfulness, and other modalities work together to support long-term balance instead of short-term relief. The future of this industry is less about luxury and more about lifestyle — helping people live in alignment, not just manage stress after the fact.
