Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Vlad EA.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In August 2025, I published the book–Business Owner in the US: Professional Complete Guide for Investors in the U.S. The book serves as a complete roadmap for anyone starting or growing a business in the United States, with a special focus on helping foreign investors and new entrepreneurs navigate the complex U.S. tax and business system with confidence.
The book helps aspiring investors learn and understand better which type of entity a new business owner should choose based on their expectations, investor needs, number of shareholders, and type of business activity.
This guide will help readers understand taxation rules and avoid mistakes and penalties from the IRS.
Also, for all foreign investors in the U.S. there is a guide and reference for each step, as well as tips for future success.
Moving from another country to the U.S. is a big decision but is easier if you have a guide that will help you navigate easily through the
process and help you make the correct decisions for yourself, your family and your business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Most people do not realize that someone new to the U.S. cannot do things that Americans find simple, such as rent an apartment or house or get a credit card since they are not part of the U.S. financial system.
Additionally, personal and commercial insurance rates were significantly higher for me as a new investor since U.S. insurance companies did not recognize any of my experience or history in another country.
I am excited that I can help new investors to better navigate the process and avoid some of the struggles I experienced eight years ago.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Our firm provides outstanding service to our clients because of our dedication to three underlying principles: professionalism, responsiveness, and quality.
Professionalism
We believe our high standards, service, and specialized staff make a difference and we are dedicated to ensuring every client receives personal attention. We also know how important it is to stay informed about new developments in tax law and other related topics. As such, we continually educate ourselves through professional organizations to improve our technical expertise and financial knowledge, as well as how to serve our clients better using state-of-the-art technologies.
Responsiveness
We provide comprehensive financial services to individuals, small to medium-sized businesses, and other agencies. Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Yes! I am excited to share that we are developing a nationwide platform to support the IRS VITA program. The bilingual platform serves as a training resource for new VITA volunteers, with the goal of expanding the volunteer network so that more families can access free, high-quality tax filing assistance each year. We are utilizing new website and AI technology to reach as many volunteers nationwide as possible.
The digital training lab includes interactive lessons, updated tax-law modules, volunteer certification practice tests, and virtual client mock-up sessions and simulations of client scenarios. The platform will be accessible in English and Spanish, and it will be updated every year according to new IRS requirements and policy changes.
While we are still working on some of the details, you can get a glimpse of the program on our new website: www.vitacertification.com
In the future, I am planning on developing a bilingual (English and Spanish) guidebook for the VITA program, designed to empower underserved and low-income families with essential tax literacy. The guide will explain how the program works, how to file federal and state returns correctly, and how families can maximize their refunds while following IRS guidelines. It will also include a special section for international students who need clear guidance on U.S. tax procedures.
I cannot wait to see how many people we can help in the coming year!
