Meet Chad Smith of Tri-South Landscape Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Smith.

Chad, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up on a farm in rural South Carolina before attending Clemson University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture in 2015. After graduation, I spent three years with a land planning and design firm in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While I enjoyed the creative work, I realized that being chained to a computer all day wasn’t the right fit for me.

I later moved to the Upstate and joined a commercial landscape company, where I spent six years helping shape the company’s culture and contributing to its growth—ultimately helping to double its size. Following several ownership changes, I decided to take the next step and founded Tri-South Landscape Group.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our struggles have been minimal – we provide a great environment for our employees who, in turn, provide an excellent service to our customers. We love what we do and that is reflected in the quality of our work.
