Hi Dante, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I come from a military family, where I learned early the importance of discipline, hard work, and taking pride in what you do. Those values carried into everything I touched.
My journey started right in my own neighborhood, simply taking care of my yard because I enjoyed the process. One day, the owner of a well-known landscaping company noticed my work and was so impressed that he offered me a job on the spot. That opportunity showed me how much I enjoyed transforming outdoor spaces and working with my hands. Before long, I decided to take what I’d learned and start my own landscaping business — turning a simple hobby into a full-fledged career built on passion, pride, and perseverance.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve had my share of ups and downs along the way. Starting from the ground up meant learning through trial and error — from figuring out how to manage finances and build a reliable team to dealing with unpredictable weather and tough seasons. There were times I questioned if I was on the right path, but every challenge taught me something new and made me stronger. Those lessons helped me grow not just as a business owner, but as a person. Looking back, the tough times are what built the foundation for the success I’m creating today.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Columbia is the sense of community and pride people have in where they live. It’s a city that continues to grow, but it still holds on to that hometown feel, people support each other, and you can really see that in how local businesses thrive. The only thing I could do without is the 5 o’clock traffic, but other than that, I wouldn’t trade Columbia for anywhere else!
