Meet Ricky Sapp of Myrtle beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricky Sapp.

Ricky , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born and raised in Bamberg,sc with both parents, two sisters and a brother. I got into sports at an early age. Right away I was talented but I got into a lot of trouble in school leading up to high school 🏫. I was the middle child and I was looking for attention and I find it by getting in trouble. I got to the high school and got around a lot of great teachers and coaches that helped me mature and make some changes. I ended up being the #1 football player in the state of South Carolina and #13 player overall in the nation. I attended Clemson University in 06-09. I got drafted in 2010 to the eagles and played 5 years in the NFL. Eagles , NY jets and Texans. I started my foundation (The ricky sapp foundation) my rookie year in 2010. After the NFL God revealed to me my purpose was to do motivational speaking for the youth. I also speak to adults as well, but my main purpose is to encourage the youth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the struggles was being confident that I was suppose to do motivational speaking. I stutter as a kid and take speech classes so speaking wasn’t something I thought I would be doing

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
