Today we’d like to introduce you to Selena Cooper.
Hi Selena, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a musician and content creator who specializes in blending original songs and covers with storytelling and humor—mostly on the ukulele and guitar. I’m known for connecting with people through music that feels real and relatable, often touching on everyday struggles and emotions with a little lightness and fun mixed in.
I can play up to 13 instruments by ear, which lets me create diverse sounds and keep my content fresh and engaging.
My TikTok journey started on a rough day. I had a bad day at work and just needed an outlet, so I picked up my ukulele, made up a funny little song, and posted it—no expectations, just a way to vent. But somehow, that one video caught fire. People started liking, commenting, and sharing it like crazy.
Before I knew it, it went viral.
Within just three days, my page skyrocketed from 100 followers to 30,000, and I was invited to the TikTok Creator Fund. As soon as I blew up, a whole lot of celebrities started posting me, commenting under my videos, and even following me instantly. It was surreal. People I had only seen on screen or heard in music were suddenly in my comment section.
From there, I just kept going—writing original songs, doing ukulele and guitar covers, and mixing it all with humor and storytelling. That mix of music, personality, and realness is what really connected with people.
Now, I’m standing at 206,000 followers and growing. I’ve been invited to perform at local open mic nights around downtown Columbia, and it’s been wild to see how many followers reach out—and even travel from different cities—just to hear me sing these songs and tell stories that come straight from the heart (and maybe a little from a past life, too).
I’m most proud of building a community where my fans feel seen and heard through my music and storytelling. What sets me apart is this authentic mix of music, personality, and visual creativity—I don’t just perform or take photos; I share stories and moments that create a vibe people want to come back to.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part, yes—it’s actually been a smooth roll so far. My page is super active, and it’s been growing every single day. But the crazy part about going viral is how people around you start to change. Folks you never really talked to suddenly start popping up, acting like they’ve always been close. That part can be weird. The support is amazing, but the shift in energy from people you know personally… that’s been the biggest adjustment.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

What sets me apart is the realness. I don’t just create content—I create connection, and that’s something people can feel.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’m also a photographer. I’ve been behind the camera for five years, and I officially launched my LLC almost two years ago. Since then, I’ve been booked and busy—capturing everything from portraits to creative brand work.
