Check Out Sarah Moriarty’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Moriarty.

Hi Sarah , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Dublin, Ireland, and pursued my passion for storytelling by studying literature and film at Trinity College Dublin. After graduating, I moved to Paris, where I began my career as an English-language photo story editor at a photojournalism agency—a role that deepened my appreciation for visual narrative and international media.

From Paris, I relocated to Berlin, Germany, where I earned a Master’s degree in Literature from the Freie Universität Berlin. My time in Berlin marked a shift toward brand marketing, working with several start-ups. Most notably, I worked at Blinkist, a nonfiction book app, where I helped shape its voice and connect readers with compelling ideas.

In October 2021, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina. I met Walter Fiederowicz and Diana Reich, two of the co-founders of Charleston Literary Festival, and soon became actively involved with the Festival, continuing my commitment to literature and stories.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Change is always difficult to navigate. The biggest struggles I’ve had along the way involve navigating changes in a productive way. I find it helps to acknowledge the feelings and keep your values at the center. I’m also a huge fan of taking one small step at a time if you’re faced with a big challenge—”slicing the elephant!” i.e. tackle things one small step at a time.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
