Community Highlights: Meet Bonnie Papajohn of Dahlia Health & Nutrition Coaching, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonnie Papajohn.

Hi Bonnie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I became a health, nutrition, and menopause coach because I lived through the challenges myself—weight gain, mood swings, and confusion about what was happening to my body. I wanted to turn that struggle into purpose and help other women feel seen, supported, and empowered during this transition.

After working for other companies for 12 years, I decided to open my own practice with the encouragement of the many clients I have worked with and helped over the years. I never dreamed I am where I am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never a smooth road. As I became more proficient in personal training, health and nutrition coaching, I had to pay my dues and learn and gain experience. My clients always wanted more than just an exercise routine or recipe. They longed for someone who could relate. I entered the fitness world full-time at the age of 50 and newly divorced. That alone was the toughest road. My clients and family kept me going because I felt a strong calling. Many times I thought about giving up, but I just couldn’t let myself down, even with money struggles and client ebbs and flows.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Dahlia Health & Nutrition Coaching, LLC?
What sets my health coaching practice apart is that it’s built on real-life experience and a deep understanding of what women go through in midlife. I specialize in menopause and offer a personalized 12-week program that combines evidence-based nutrition, lifestyle strategies, and mindset support. It’s not one-size-fits-all; it’s tailored to each woman’s unique journey so she can feel strong, balanced, and in control again. I’m proud to be a women-owned business that supports women of all ages.

I offer weight loss support and perimenopause/menopause support through my 12-week coaching program. I meet weekly with clients through Zoom. That allows for flexibility for my busy clients and me.

I have established relationships with several doctors in the upstate who refer their patients to me. My physician-supported program is unique because I focus on individuals who typically have metabolic diseases and other health-related issues, such as heart disease or autoimmune disorders. The patient/client/physician relationship is extremely rewarding.
