Hidden Gems: Meet Bridgette Lee of Lee & Associates Paralegal Consulting Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgette Lee.

Hi Bridgette, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Obtaining a college degree was very important to and I always had a desire to work in the legal field, so in 2014 I enrolled in the Paralegal program at Greenville Technical College. I graduated in May of 2016 and went on to further my education by obtaining my Governmental Pre-Law degree from Liberty University. I worked as an Estate Clerk assisting the community in navigating through Probate for 6 1/2 years and that is where the desire to help people even the more to understand the process of probate and estate planning became greater and more passionate for me. Losing a love one is not easy and having to navigate through the process while managing grief can be difficult for some because so many people are unaware of what probate means or truly consists of. In March of 2024, I launched Lee & Associates Paralegal Consulting Services and in Premier Apostille and Notary Services in June of the same year, to over affordable services to the community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Estate planning is a topic that many feel uncomfortable to talk about and thinking about end of life decisions can be emotionally challenging, leading many to avoid the topic altogether. Some individuals may have a fear of death or avoid thinking about their own mortality and therefore will put off estate planning , assuming they have plenty of time. Some people have a misconception that estate planning is just for people who are wealthy, but everyone can benefit from estate planning. Having a plan for the future is the most important gift you can give yourself and your family. Granted, none of us will ever know for sure what is around every corner in life. And just thinking about the what-ifs — what if I were to die or become incapacitated tomorrow; what if my child with special needs has no one to care for her/him; what if all my “stuff” isn’t passed onto the right people — can be overwhelming. But having a plan that accounts for your family’s unique circumstances, puts your affairs in order, has concrete solutions to your concerns, lays out your wishes and goals, and protects your family’s future provides peace of mind for the road ahead. I believe that when people see the benefit of estate planning as recognizing common obstacles and taking proactive steps to address them, individuals can move forward with creating a comprehensive estate plan that provides peace of mind and safeguards their legacy.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking, when aligned with faith and God’s will can be a catalyst for personal and professional growth that brings new opportunities and experiences that we never imagined. While risk-taking may come with uncertainty, it can come with personal fulfillment and a level confidence from deep within when we step out of our comfort zone and stretch ourselves.
