Hi Jesús, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey in music began back in 2008 with the launch of maxiocio.net, a music blog where I curated and shared the best hits of the moment, primarily from YouTube. Although I’m from Spain, I’ve always been deeply inspired by American and English-speaking artists something that shaped the foundation of the platform. I monetized the site through Adsense and had a music publishing license with ASCAP, allowing me to legally share and comment on content.
At its peak, the website reached over 22,000 daily visitors, and I managed it passionately for eight years. However, as life evolved and I started a family, I had to step away from the project. Still, the music never left me it just waited for the right moment to return.
That moment came on December 22, 2024, the day of Spain’s iconic Christmas Lottery a symbolic new beginning. I came back with more drive and creative freedom than ever. This time, I didn’t just share music; I started making it. I left the video format behind and embraced the new tools that allow artists to compose, produce, and tell stories through sound.
Each track I create begins with a story from Vikings to the cosmos and the genre I choose adapts to that narrative. That’s why I call myself a “Multiverse DJ.” My name, RitmoDJ, is proudly in Spanish. While “RhythmDJ” would make sense in English, I wanted my identity to reflect where I come from.
Since that December, it’s been non-stop. Although I’ve only been back for a few months, my years of experience gave me a veteran’s mindset. I’m growing slowly but organically, without relying on advertising. No paid campaigns, no gimmicks just music from the soul, shared on my site and platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and Tidal.
What makes a song worth publishing for me? It has to resonate deeply. If it doesn’t move me 100%, I don’t release it. Interestingly, some songs I felt less attached to have performed better than expected music has its own mysterious path.
On my site, ritmodj.com, I also opened a space to support unknown singers people with amazing voices who may not have the confidence to perform publicly but dream of being heard. With Voices with Soul, we give them the opportunity to anonymously share their music and be part of professional-quality tracks. They can even contribute to our studio fund or send their raw vocals through these sections:

Because music should never be limited by fear or lack of resources it’s meant to be shared, felt, and lived.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. One of the biggest challenges was balancing music with personal life especially when I started a family. As much as I loved running my music site and staying connected to the industry, time and energy became limited, and I had to step away from it all for several years.
Coming back was another kind of challenge: the industry had evolved, and I had to learn new tools, trends, and platforms. But at the same time, I saw this as an opportunity to reinvent myself and make music in a much more personal and authentic way.
Another struggle has been visibility. Unlike before, now I’ve chosen to grow organically no paid ads, no campaigns just letting the music speak for itself. That path is slower, but more rewarding. You’re building real connections, not just clicks.

Before returning fully to music, I dedicated most of my professional life to the field of security. My journey started with Spain’s mandatory military service, where I served as a corporal in the Security Unit. I worked closely with a senior sergeant, training soldiers in physical preparation, marching techniques, and ceremonial weapons handling. That year of service taught me discipline, leadership, and a deep respect for structure and responsibility values that have stayed with me ever since.
After finishing my service with top marks for behavior and spirit, I transitioned into the private security sector. There, I went through intensive training in personal defense, theoretical and legal aspects of security, and firearms proficiency. I worked long hours in this field, which left little time for my true passion music.
Despite the demanding nature of that career, the spark never left me. The discipline I gained during those years has shaped how I now approach music: with structure, patience, and a deep sense of purpose.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that usually surprises people about me is the fact that I come from a military and private security background. Most people who hear my music or see the creative universe I build through RitmoDJ would never guess that I once trained soldiers, led armed formations, and worked long shifts in the security industry.
Another surprising thing? I don’t release music unless it gives me chills. Literally. I can spend days sometimes weeks on a song, and if it doesn’t strike a deep emotional chord, I toss it out. No matter how technically “good” it is. For me, music has to move the soul.
Also, most people assume I’m part of a team or a label, but everything the website, the sound design, the releases, even supporting unknown singers is handled by me. It’s personal, and I like it that way.
