Today we’d like to introduce you to Ella Greene.
Hi Ella, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My family and I are no strangers to hair and skin concerns. My grandmother lost her hair due to chemo, my mom had alopecia & I was suffering tremendously with psoriasis. Our hair plays a major role in how we view ourselves so I saw a clear opportunity to jump in and help those to see themselves in a positive aspect.
Greene Essence was founded in 2020 at the beginning stages of COVID-19’s peak. Leaving us stuck indoors, I found that to be the perfect time for me to be more creative and explore the true meaning of self care. In doing so, I was able to discover and cultivate things that’s highly beneficial not only for myself but for others as well. My mission is to empower individuals to embrace their true selves by enhancing their natural state.
With a passion for boosting the self-esteem of others, whether through photography or cosmetics, I discovered a profound calling in self-care. Greene Essence is dedicated to helping you love what you see in the mirror. We focus on delivering innovative, natural solutions to address a wide range of concerns—starting with hair and scalp care and eventually skincare. Our commitment is to surpass your expectations and provide transformative results. Discover the essence of natural beauty with Greene Essence.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, yet still very rewarding. One of the most challenging times for me as an entrepreneur is remaining consistent with supply and demand, marketing & creating content when dealing with problems in my personal life. Another struggle was transitioning to a new state, where I had little to no customers. But I didn’t let that stop me. I now live by this one rule: Never allow an unpleasant or stressful moment to ruin your future. What that means to me is no matter how bad a situation is remember it’s just a moment in time, things always get better.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I feel that I’ve always been creative, the hard part was finding what moved me the most. I did makeup it wasn’t enough for me, I did photography still felt that I could do more. Then I got into natural self care. I started out with bar soaps, whipped soaps & body butters. Eventually branched off into haircare, that’s when Greene Essence really started to flourish. I’m the most proud of our Hair Growth Oil that is now sold in JD’s Beauty Supply store and we have a few hairstylists that sell our oil in their salon. I think what sets me aside from other hair care brands is my compassion and eagerness to help.
