Life & Work with Dr. Manal Munir of UAE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Manal Munir.

Hi Dr. Manal, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up, my mother was my biggest inspiration to become a doctor. Her own journey in the medical field deeply influenced me and fueled my passion as I got older. Today, I love sharing my experiences — the challenges, rewards, and everything in between — with others on social media as part of this incredible profession.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the beginning, I really struggled to adapt to the demands of medical life. Balancing my studies with everything else felt overwhelming, and there were several moments when I seriously considered giving up. I even reached a point where my mom told me it was okay if I didn’t want to continue. But over time, things began to fall into place. I learned how to manage better, grew within the field, and developed strong communication skills with my peers. During my internship, I became confident in my diagnostic abilities and earned recognition for my dedication and work ethic. Looking back, I’m genuinely proud of how far I’ve come.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m currently a medical intern and will officially become a licensed doctor this August once I complete my internship. While I’m still in training, I’m aspiring to specialize in dermatology. My passion for skincare and leading a healthy lifestyle has always drawn me toward this path. From the very beginning, I’ve been focused on this field — it’s never felt like just a career choice, but rather something I’m genuinely connected to. It aligns perfectly with who I am and what I envision for my future.

I’ve always believed that confidence starts with how you feel in your own skin. The saying ‘look good, feel good’ truly resonates with me. I’ve always cared about how I present myself, and when I finally found a great dermatologist, it completely transformed my confidence. That experience was a turning point — I felt empowered, happier, and more driven. It’s amazing how something as seemingly simple as healthy skin and hair can impact how you show up in the world. Confidence, as they say, is the key to success

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very outgoing child — never shy or hesitant to take part in social events. I had a bubbly personality and loved interacting with people, which naturally led me to have a solid group of friends. I was often seen as a helpful presence, always surrounded by those I cared about. Helping others genuinely made me happy, whether it was assisting at school or being involved in events. I also took on several leadership roles whenever the opportunity came up. Any chance I had to step into the spotlight, I embraced it — not for the attention, but because I genuinely enjoyed being involved and making an impact. I was also quite creative and passionate about art and always made an effort to participate in projects that allowed me to express that side of myself
