Meet Liz Fast of Fast Therapy and Coaching LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Fast.

Hi Liz, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in a large family full of strong, successful individuals—people who were confident in who they were and what they brought to the world. Being the youngest, I looked up to them as heroes. I deeply admired them but also struggled with the desire to carve out my own path. Even as a little girl, people would gravitate toward me. I was the one others felt safe with, the one they said made them feel truly seen and understood. That became a recurring theme throughout my life, and while I always held space for others, I often didn’t feel that same level of understanding in return. That contrast shaped the deep empathy I now bring to my work.

In college, I wasn’t exactly sure what career I was destined for—I just knew I needed to do something that came naturally. I changed my major countless times, but always returned to psychology and counseling, because it felt like home. Oddly enough, I never imagined I’d become a therapist or life coach. Yet here I am, years later, doing work that not only fits me but fuels me.

I started my career in public service, foster care and education. Working as a school counselor for nearly five years, and then moved into higher education where I taught college classes and advised adult learners. I loved working with non-traditional students and found the higher ed space so fulfilling. But when I returned to a K-12 setting, I hit a wall. The system made it incredibly hard to provide the support my students truly needed, and I found myself burning out. It was disheartening—especially after investing so much time, money, and emotion into this career path. I felt stuck, and I didn’t know how to pivot.

In that season of uncertainty, I hired a life coach to help guide me professionally. That decision completely changed the trajectory of my life. Through that process, I realized I didn’t want to stay in a traditional role—I wanted to build something of my own. I launched a private practice and online life coaching business and began focusing on helping women navigate their life’s purpose and career transitions—specifically those who were feeling stuck in roles that no longer served them. I became passionate about guiding women who were ready to leave behind expectations, burnout, or unfulfilling work, and step into careers and lives that felt more aligned, intentional, and true to who they are.

The biggest shift, however, came when I became a mother myself. After having my son, I experienced a very real and raw postpartum season filled with depression, anxiety, and personal struggles. It brought me to my knees, and in many ways, it brought me back to square one. That period transformed not just my life, but my mission. I knew I needed to speak more directly to the women who were balancing careers, dreams, and motherhood—often in silence.

That’s what led me to Greenville, South Carolina, where I rebuilt my life and launched my private practice. Today, I specialize in supporting ambitious women—executives, healers, mothers, and purpose-driven dreamers—who are doing it all, but often without the support they truly need. I help them come home to themselves, redefine success on their own terms, and pursue lives that are rooted in purpose, presence, and wholeness.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it’s been the farthest thing from a smooth road. My journey has been full of unexpected twists, deep challenges, and moments of complete uncertainty. Ironically, I never even thought I’d be a therapist. It didn’t initially feel like something I could fully see myself doing long term. I always craved something more expansive, creative, and flexible. And when I worked in the education system as a school counselor, the role felt nearly impossible—I could never do enough, never be enough. I was carrying the emotional weight of so many students and families, and it wore on me deeply. From the outside, it looked like I had the dream job and the dream life. But internally, I was overwhelmed, anxious, and exhausted.

I was the girl who always followed the rules—I did everything “right.” I went to college, got my graduate degree, landed the stable career. But standing in what was supposed to be my dream job, I felt completely lost. That dissonance pushed me to seek help, and hiring a life coach was the first major turning point. It gave me permission to explore something more aligned with who I really was.

But building your own business is no easy road either. There were plenty of bumps—finding my voice, identifying my niche, learning how to truly serve others without burning myself out. One of the hardest, yet most transformative, moments came when I started walking away from safety and security—the jobs, titles, and environments that looked good on paper but didn’t feel good in my heart. I even took roles later on that I thought were “perfect” for our family’s needs, only to find they still didn’t align with the life I wanted to live.

Motherhood was the biggest shift of all. I had built a successful, fast-paced business before my son was born, but I quickly learned that the high-demand hustle I once thrived in wasn’t sustainable in my new season of life. I had a high-risk pregnancy, followed by a challenging postpartum experience filled with anxiety and depression. In search of stability, I went back to traditional work—but emotionally, it still left me feeling unsupported and out of alignment.

That’s when I knew I had to build something different—again. I had to reimagine everything: my business model, my priorities, and even my definition of success. I had to start over, carve a new path, and trust my own voice. It meant taking risks, saying no to comfort, and saying yes to a vision I hadn’t seen modeled before. But in doing so, I created a practice that truly supports not just my clients, but also my life. And now I get to serve women who are on that same journey—navigating transitions, honoring their limits, redefining success, and learning to build lives that work for them.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist and a life coach—and I think that blend really defines the heart of my work. My practice is a reflection of both worlds: the depth and healing of therapy, paired with the forward motion and momentum of coaching. It creates this hybrid space where clients can not only process what’s holding them back, but also take bold, aligned steps toward the life they truly want.

What I do is deeply personal. I support women—ambitious, big-hearted, multi-dimensional women—who are navigating some of life’s most defining chapters: career transitions, burnout, identity shifts, postpartum, purpose-seeking, and everything in between. Whether it’s motherhood, business, healing, or all of the above, I meet my clients wherever they are and help them come back home to themselves.

What sets my work apart is that I lead with realness. I’m not here to be a guru or a “fixer.” I’m here to walk alongside you. I live a real, messy, beautiful life too—there are toddler fingerprints on my fridge, and I still have days when I feel stuck or unsure. But what I do know is how to hold space, how to reflect your power back to you, and how to help you connect the dots between who you are and the life you want to be living.

I’m known for creating an environment where people feel safe to be fully themselves. My clients often say it feels like exhaling for the first time. They know I’ll be honest with them, I’ll challenge them when it’s time to stretch, and I’ll be their biggest believer every step of the way. I’m proud to be a guide who doesn’t just hand out advice—but really sees you, hears you, and reminds you of your own inner wisdom.

My work is rooted in helping women stop living on autopilot and start living with clarity and intention. I help clients reconnect to their purpose, rediscover their voice, and realign their lives in a way that feels spacious, grounded, and uniquely their own. That might mean redefining what success looks like, launching a passion project, healing from burnout, setting boundaries, or finally creating a life that includes rest and joy—not just survival and achievement.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that everything I offer is inclusive, human, and heart-forward. I offer 1:1 coaching, therapy (in-person in downtown Greenville, South Carolina), group programs, and virtual sessions for women all over. Some come to me for career coaching or business clarity. Some come for support through motherhood, mental health, or big life pivots. No matter the path, the heart of my work is always the same: helping women feel powerful in their lives again—not just productive.

I want your readers to know: if you’re carrying a lot, if you’re trying to hold it all together while wondering who you are underneath it all—I see you. My work is for you. And it’s my honor to help women remember their magic and finally live a life that feels like theirs.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is helping women come home to themselves. I care deeply about creating a life—and a world—where women feel safe to be who they truly are. Where they don’t have to push, prove, or pretend to be worthy. Where they can breathe, be seen, and take up space.

I believe every woman deserves to feel proud of her life—not just on paper, but in her heart. That she can live with purpose, joy, and clarity—even in the middle of motherhood, ambition, or uncertainty. That she doesn’t have to choose between being present and being powerful. She can be both.

This work matters because when a woman heals, grows, or decides to choose herself again—it sends a ripple into everything around her. It impacts her family, her relationships, her legacy. And that kind of change lasts.

My purpose is to be part of that ripple. To walk beside women as they find their voice, honor their truth, and build lives that actually feel good to live. Because when women thrive, we all do.
