Check Out Khadijah Abrams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khadijah Abrams.

Hi Khadijah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey to creating Made Worthy Journal Notebooks started from a pretty personal place. After a tough breakup in 2015, I was feeling lost and struggling with my self-worth. Journaling became my escape—my space to reflect, heal, and start believing in myself again. One day, I had this lightbulb moment: why not create journals that could help others do the same? So, I started thinking about how I could use journals to empower people and remind them of their worth.

Fast forward to June 2020, and I finally took the leap and launched Made Worthy Journal Notebooks LLC. The idea was simple: create journals that inspire, motivate, and help people stay focused on their personal journeys. I started with affirmation journals, then added fitness logbooks, sermon notes journals, and more, each designed to help people track their goals, reflect, and stay grounded.

The journey definitely had its challenges…launching a business during the pandemic was not easy. I was also balancing a full-time job, working on the business, and dealing with the ups and downs of being a first-time entrepreneur. But I kept pushing forward, and over time, the business grew. I added new journals, collaborated with awesome organizations, and even got the chance to host journaling sessions to inspire others.

Now, looking back, I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. What started as a small idea has turned into something that’s helping people document their journeys and embrace their worth. I’m excited about the future and can’t wait to keep building on this vision.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has been a lesson. Early on, I was juggling a full-time job while trying to get my business off the ground. Then, life threw a curveball—I got engaged in 2022 and married in 2023. Planning a wedding took up a lot of my time and energy, which meant my focus shifted away from promoting my journals. As a result, sales declined, but they didn’t stop completely.

Now, my husband and I are settled into our new city and jobs, and I’m excited to pick up the momentum again in year five. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it, and I’m ready to continue sharing the power of journaling with others.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In my day job, I work as a Senior Corporate Communications Specialist for a Fortune 100 global technology company. I focus on creating content that tells the company’s story, elevates our brand, and engages our audience. The company specializes in connecting businesses with the technology solutions they need to drive growth and innovation. My role involves managing executive communications, drafting articles, social media posts, and press releases, and collaborating across teams to ensure our messaging is clear, impactful, and aligned with our vision.

I enjoy simplifying complex topics and turning them into engaging, digestible content for both internal and external audiences. I also love helping others share their stories—whether through feature articles, interviews, or thought leadership.

What I’m most proud of is being able to contribute to the company’s communications strategy in meaningful ways—whether it’s helping to roll out our brand refresh or lead the creation of executive thought leadership content. It’s fulfilling to see the impact of the work, and I’m excited to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve with our communications efforts.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck the way the world might define it. For me, it’s all about trusting God’s timing and having faith that everything happens for a reason, even if I don’t understand it in the moment. There have certainly been times in my life and business where things fell into place, and I see that as God’s favor and guidance. When I launched Made Worthy Journal Notebooks, it felt like the doors were opening just when I needed them, and I can’t help but believe that was part of His plan.

On the other hand, I’ve also faced challenges and moments where things didn’t go the way I expected. I’ve learned that those “bad luck” moments are often just God redirecting me, teaching me lessons in patience, resilience, and trust. It’s during those times I’ve had to lean into my faith and remind myself that He has a purpose for everything. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” I hold onto that promise, trusting that even the tough times are working for my good and His glory.

So, for me, it’s not about luck—it’s about faith, trusting in God’s plan, and knowing that He’s in control every step of the way.
