Check Out Hayley Kruth’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Kruth.

Hi Hayley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey to where I am today began with a mindset that was born out of necessity: You will never meet a greater hustler than a person who has set their mind to something…and also has bills to pay. This became my guiding principle when I decided to leave behind my day jobs (yes, more than one) in 2019 to build something of my own.

Originally from Kentucky, I made the move to Charleston with my husband, our dog, and our bearded dragon, Henry, in 2020. At first, I was focused on helping small businesses with social media marketing, but it wasn’t until 2021 that I realized my true passion was in building brand identities for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits. That’s when Moxie Made was born. With a background in Public Relations, Marketing, and Branding, I combined the best of all three to create a process that is both collaborative and efficient—designed to help small businesses, solo-preneurs, and nonprofits present themselves in a thoughtful and visually impactful way.

I had always been working toward becoming an entrepreneur, even before I officially started in 2019. My first experience with entrepreneurial spirit came from working at a coworking space in Bowling Green, KY. There, I was surrounded by an inspiring community of entrepreneurs, which led me to my first client in social media marketing, thanks to a friend and colleague who took a chance on me. At the time, I was juggling two jobs, pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Media and Branding, and planning a wedding—talk about multitasking! I still remember filling out a random questionnaire during school, asking what my dream career would be, and I wrote down that I wanted to own my own business. The mixture of fear and excitement that followed that answer was the moment I knew I was on the right path.

By July 2020, with immense love and support from others, I took the leap to become a full-time business owner. Since then, Moxie Made has grown into a brand that helps small businesses, solo-preneurs, and nonprofits build identities that resonate with their audiences. It’s been an amazing journey of growth, challenge, and reward—and I can honestly say that it’s only just the beginning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Is the road ever smooth? Not really, but that’s what keeps it interesting! In fact, I’ve always repeated a mantra to myself: “Nothing worth it ever comes easy.” Starting a business is mentally and physically taxing, and at times it feels like the losses outweigh the wins. But when you do get a win, it’s like a breath of fresh air—it gives you the energy to keep going.

As time has passed and I’ve been in business for more years, the lessons learned along the way have really helped build my confidence. Now, when struggles arise, I have this strong belief in myself that I will figure it out. I know that whatever comes my way, I have the resilience to tackle it. But I truly believe this level of confidence only comes with time and experience. Each challenge faced has taught me something invaluable, and with that growth, I’ve learned how to approach each new hurdle with a bit more calm and a lot more trust in my own abilities.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Moxie Made, we specialize in crafting thoughtful and visually impactful brand identities for small businesses, solo-preneurs, and non-profits. We believe in the power of a brand to tell a story that resonates with the audience, and we’re here to make sure that story is presented in the most authentic, memorable, and meaningful way possible. What sets us apart is our holistic approach to branding—it’s not just about the logo. We dive deep into brand messaging, design, websites, and customer experience to help businesses connect with their audience on all levels, creating a vibe that’s unique to them.

What I’m most proud of is the ability to take something that may feel confusing or overwhelming to a client and transform it into something that clicks and stands out. We work closely with our clients to shape the feeling people have about their brand, making sure every detail reflects their vision and purpose. It’s that balance of tough love and unwavering support that really makes the process come alive.

Our slogan “More than just your logo” sums it up perfectly. We’re not here to just create a pretty design; we’re here to help you build a brand that people can see, hear, and feel. It’s about crafting a complete experience that speaks to your audience, from how they perceive you online to how they engage with your products or services.

What sets Moxie Made apart is that we’re not about overcomplicating things. We focus on clarity, authenticity, and creating an experience that feels real. Our vision is to shine a light on cool, unique businesses and causes that are passionate, down-to-earth, and totally original. Our mission is to help the passion-driven build a brand that’s not just seen but truly felt—everywhere and in everything they do.

It’s about turning an idea into a business and making sure that business feels just as amazing as it looks. That’s what we’re known for, and what we’re most passionate about.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
It’s funny you ask this, because I’m actually currently writing a book about my childhood! When I think about my favorite childhood memory, what really stands out is the time when I whole-heartedly believed I was going to be a princess when I grew up. I remember being so serious about it—trying to figure out what steps I needed to take, who I needed to talk to, and how I could sign up to become a princess. I would spend hours thinking about the process and imagining what my life would be like in a castle, wearing a crown, and, of course, having all the royal responsibilities. It was a time when I truly believed anything was possible, and I loved the pure joy and excitement that came from that innocent dream. Looking back, it’s a reminder of how important it is to hold onto that sense of wonder and possibility, even as we grow older.
