Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Johnson.
Hi Zachary, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started with the civil engineering degree at Clemson thinking I was going to go into the engineering field. After 10 years of misdirection I decided to pursue music full-time. So I quit my job building houses started the most uncertain journey of my life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
it’s been anything but smooth. Making money in the music industry is already a tall order, but having a girlfriend wreck your truck, close friends betray you and family lose faith in you, financial success becomes almost almost impossible.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do music. I’m a sound engineer so I can make a live set sound like a studio cut. Moreover, I’m a drummer because that’s what I love to do. Nobody kicks a groove like I do, yet I’m not the best and I’m not the worst at it.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Do it. Whatever it is, you think you should do to progress toward your goals. There are tons of reasons not to do something but when you push through and just do it, other things you could’ve never imagined start to start happening
