Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Warner.
Hi Linda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I moved from South Africa to Charleston in 2017. I had run my wedding planning company in South Africa and knew this was the correct route to go in Charleston. I worked as a Planner for Pinnacle Weddings for 2 years successfully building my connections with Vendors and Venues. I bought the company in 2019. At that time, everyone left the company and COVID arrived. This gave me the time to start training new People as I knew that it would be really busy in the next couple of years. My team has now grown to 5 planners, 4 Assist planners, 2 photographers and we work with 4 DJ’s. It has been an amazing adventure and to be able to be a part of the Wedding world is so rewarding.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The first obstacle I had after buying the Company was COVID, that paused our wedding bookings which meant no income for a while but it also allowed me to hire Planners and train them properly for the Weddings once we were back in business. I have had to learn to not be disappointed in people and to rather look at the positives and feed off of those. Considering I came to a new country and a new Wedding world I feel that it has been a good journey even with the ups and downs and am excited to see what the future holds for my Company
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We design each wedding in a unique and inclusive way to allow all our clients to feel that their wedding day is specially for them and that we have helped them get to their Wedding day with the least amount of stress and the most fun.
In South Africa I did set design for theatre and I am an artist, with this I have found that it has helped to design our clients vision and be able to bring it to life.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is building a company with a team who are incredibly loyal and hard working with all of us enjoying the work place and making so many Bridal couples so happy.
