Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Gable
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my journey selling gemstone bracelets and necklaces in a multi-vendor store. Initially hesitant, my daughter encouraged me to give it a try. Things went well until the store’s closure which led me to Northwoods Mall.
In May 2022, I started with a small cart, guided by a friend with 17 years of experience in the metaphysical realm. By June, she jokingly suggested a partnership, which officially began in July 2022. Outgrowing the cart, we invested in a kiosk in a new mall location.
During setup, we were offered a lease for a storefront, which we signed on February 16th. We worked tirelessly for nine days to prepare it, and by February 26th, we moved everything overnight and opened for business on February 27th. Our grand opening was on March 16th, my birthday. We’ve just celebrated our third anniversary.
The rapid growth and high demand have been exhilarating. My partner often jokes that I built Rome in a day. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re grateful to share our passion with others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been an amazing journey watching our business grow beyond our expectations. Our location in the mall is definitely one of the best spots.
However, we’ve faced some challenges due to the mall’s upkeep and the inconsistent enforcement of policies by the management. These issues have made it difficult for small businesses like ours to thrive. Fortunately, we’re incredibly grateful for our loyal customers, who have been a tremendous support in overcoming these obstacles.
We’ve been impressed with SV Crystals, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At SV Crystals and More, we provide a wide array of metaphysical items to support one’s spiritual journey. Beyond our diverse selection of tumbled and specimen crystals, we also offer a variety of herbs, teas, statues, incense, sage, and jewelry, including sterling silver pieces.
We host classes covering topics such as herbs, crystals, card reading, and intention setting. One of our special events is our quarterly Teatime, featuring a selection of our handcrafted teas served with classic cucumber sandwiches and cookies.
Additionally, we offer services such as Reiki and Aura photography. To our knowledge, we are the only location in South Carolina that provides Aura photography using a computer system where you can see your aura change in real time. After the Aura is read, we provide a detailed report which includes an analysis of your personality based on the colors of your Aura, an overview of your chakra alignment, and other relevant insights. When someone schedules both Reiki and Aura photography, I always do the aura photography first then Reiki, and as a bonus, I repeat the aura photography at no extra charge. It’s fascinating to see the impact Reiki has on the aura.
What truly distinguishes us is our commitment to honesty and our dedication to supporting our customers’ spiritual journeys. We prioritize connection and guidance over sales. Many of our customers return to share how we’ve positively influenced them, seeking new perspectives and offerings. I am most proud of our ability to truly listen to our customers and understand their needs. If we don’t have what they need for their personal journey, we’ll do our best to source it or connect them with someone who does. Our expertise is as valuable as our products, and we’re always ready to share our knowledge.
