Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Nunns
Hi Jessica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi, I’m Jessica.
I’m a mom, workplace wellness consultant, employee engagement trainer, certified health and wellness coach, registered nurse, and small business owner. That might sound like a lot of titles, but really, it all comes down to this: I help people feel better at work – so they can do better in life.
I grew up in the Midwest, but now I call the Charlotte area home. And like many professionals, I spent years chasing the ideal version of “success” in the corporate world – driven, dedicated, and honestly, a little depleted.
At 39, newly married and trying to start a family, I found myself hiding the most human part of my life from the people I worked with. I feared that if I showed up as someone with real needs, someone who might soon be a parent … I’d be seen as less valuable. That fear wasn’t just stressful. It was impacting my health, my relationships, and my ability to start the family I dreamed of. Eventually, I resigned – not because I wanted to leave, but because I felt like I had to. And that’s what lit the spark for the work I do today through my company, Sensibly Holistic.
Because no one should have to choose between their career, their health, and their family.
A workplace culture that supports well-being isn’t just a nice idea … it’s a business strategy. And that belief is at the heart of what I bring to the small businesses I serve today.
With over 20 years of experience in leadership, operations, and team development, combined with my background as a nurse and board-certified holistic wellness coach, and as the founder of Sensibly Holistic, I partner with small business owners and leadership teams to help their people and their businesses thrive.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest obstacles has been overcoming the myth that workplace wellness is only for big corporations with big budgets.
Many small business owners believe they don’t have the time, resources, or need for wellness initiatives. But the truth is, small businesses often need it the most. When your team is lean and everyone wears multiple hats, burnout hits harder, and turnover costs more.
Helping leaders shift from “we can’t afford this” to “we can’t afford not to” has taken time, education, and trust-building. But once they see that wellness isn’t just yoga mats and smoothie bars—though I’m a fan of both, just maybe not in the break room. It’s about culture, communication, and support … it clicks.
And yes, there’s a return on investment. Better retention, fewer sick days, improved morale, stronger performance. When people feel well, they work well.
Wellness and culture doesn’t have to be fancy. It has to be intentional and practiced. And when it is, the results speak for themselves.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What I do
I work with small business owners and teams who are stretched thin. Everyone’s wearing multiple hats, burnout is always lurking, and turnover feels costly and constant. I step in to help leaders create cultures where people can actually show up as themselves – energized, engaged, and able to do their best work.
Whether through leadership coaching, employee workshops, or custom wellness strategies, my work focuses on:
– Reducing burnout and turnover
– Boosting engagement and productivity
– Aligning well-being with business goals
I don’t bring trendy perks or plug-and-play programs. I bring real-life tools that fit the way you actually work.
What Sets Me Apart
I know what it’s like to lead a team, build a business, and carry the emotional weight of wanting to do right by your people. I bring clinical knowledge, lived experience, and a whole lot of practicality to every conversation.
My clients don’t just want their people to stay. They want them to productive and well. And I help them create the kind of workplace where that’s possible.
Let’s Connect

What makes you happy?
Nature is my reset button. Whether it’s hiking, walking by the lake, or just stepping outside for a breath of fresh air, movement clears my head and refuels me in every way.
But my greatest joy? Watching my daughter grow. She reminds me daily why this work matters – why creating healthier, more human workplaces isn’t just good business, it’s deeply personal.
