Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Chandler
Hi Julia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, and now I call Moncks Corner home. Before stepping into real estate, I spent five years as a stay-at-home mom, raising my three boys and cherishing every moment with them. But as they grew, I knew I wanted to build something for myself—something that would allow me to provide for my family while still being present in their lives. That’s when I took a leap and pursued a career in real estate.
From the start, I knew this wasn’t just about selling houses—it was about helping people achieve the American dream. In just two years, I built a strong reputation, earning a spot in the top 5% of the CHS MLS in 2023. I worked hard, gained a following by being authentic and knowledgeable, and put my whole heart into my clients’ success. Then, when the time was right, I took another big step—I decided to represent myself as an independent agent.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Balancing my career with being a mom was one of the biggest challenges. After five years as a stay-at-home parent, jumping into a fast-paced, commission-based industry while still prioritizing my boys wasn’t easy. There were late nights, early mornings, and moments of doubt—wondering if I could really juggle it all.
Building my reputation was another hurdle. Real estate is competitive, and earning people’s trust as a newer agent took time. I had to prove myself, showing potential clients that I wasn’t just another agent—I was someone who genuinely cared and would go the extra mile for them.
Then came the leap to representing myself as an independent agent. It was a bold move, but it also came with uncertainty. Would people follow me? Would I be able to maintain the momentum I had built? There was pressure to succeed—not just for myself, but for my family and the clients who believed in me.
Beyond business, life brought its own heartbreak. Losing my dog, Maggie, at the end of 2023 was devastating—she was family. And in 2024, going through a divorce tested me in ways I never expected. Through the grief, the uncertainty, and the emotional weight of it all, I still had to show up—not just for my clients, but for my kids and myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a dedicated real estate professional who specializes in guiding clients through one of the most important decisions of their lives—buying or selling a home. I’m known for my authenticity, my deep commitment to helping people achieve the American dream, and the genuine relationships I build along the way.
What sets me apart is my personal approach. I don’t just see clients as transactions—I see them as people with real goals, dreams, and concerns. Having been born and raised as a local. I have a deep understanding of the Lowcountry market, which gives me an advantage in helping my clients make the best decisions. People trust me because I make them feel supported every step of the way, whether they’re first-time buyers, sellers looking for the right move, or families searching for their forever home.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to balance a successful career while still being present for my children all while going through huge life changes. I’ve built something meaningful—not just a thriving business, but a reputation based on care, trust, and real results.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is my family—especially being there for my kids as they grow. Balancing my career and my role as a mom is at the heart of everything I do. I want to build a legacy that shows them the value of hard work, perseverance, and staying true to yourself.
Equally important is the trust and relationships I build with my clients. Helping them find their dream homes and guiding them through one of life’s biggest decisions is something I take seriously. Knowing I’ve made a real difference in their lives is incredibly fulfilling.
At the core, what matters most is authenticity. Whether in my personal life or my career, staying true to who I am and building connections based on trust is what drives me every day.
