Meet Amy Everhart of Myrtle Beach Foodie Babe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Everhart

Hi Amy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started posting photos to Instagram in 2009 when it wasn’t really a thing yet. I saw how quickly a personal bakery business of mine grew through Facebook and word of mouth. I liked the idea of posting small business owners and especially restaurant food pictures in hopes it inspired people to go in and give them a try. Fast forward to almost 3 years ago when we moved from Pawleys Island to Myrtle Beach and I decided to play a heavy focus on the Myrtle Beach Food Scene. I was going to call it MyrtleBeachFoodBabe but there is a very successful entrepreneur called The Food Babe and I didn’t want anything to cause trouble later on down the road so I went with MyrtleBeachFoodieBabe. That’s when this brand was born.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a lot of fun. There was a large initial investment into gaining content in the beginning for sure but now opportunities are aligning making it worth all the time and financial investment to get it going. Plus I have met so many great people and it’s been so amazing watching my style of content change for the better as I learn new skills and techniques. Having a Graphic Design background has really helped.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Myrtle Beach Foodie Babe?
Myrtle Beach Foodie Babe is a Myrtle Beach food scene social media account run by me, Amy Everhart, the creative behind the brand. I started with a “0” following account and have built it up to 13K plus followers in 3 years. I love the creative edge I have with making reels highlighting local businesses and sometimes some non- local brands if they are good fit for me personally and if I think it will be a good fit for my audience. I am a heavily food focused account where others are more lifestyle and incorporating food. I really wanted to be niche and hyper focus in the beginning and now I am ready to start branching out into some travel highlighting weekend getaways, where we ate, where we stayed and eventually include international travel. I really enjoy taking photos of food and anything that is eye catching to me to showcase other establishments through my eyes. The creation of the content itself is really an artistic medium for me. Some paint, are into music, this is my art form and creative outlet.

Any big plans?
I plan on launching a merchandise platform in the near future. I am currently working on designs and choosing a company to help me fulfill merchandise orders. It started with stickers and is quickly becoming much more.
