Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorna Roberts
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Fashion is my ministry. It’s more than just clothing—it’s self-expression, confidence, and healing. It’s a gift that allows me to serve, uplift, and empower others. Through my journey, I’ve witnessed firsthand how personal style can be transformative, not just in appearance but in spirit. That calling, deeply rooted in my faith, led me to create Blackpine Vintage Boutique, a space where fashion, style, culture, history, and service meets purpose.
What started as an annual pop-up in the Caribbean has evolved into something far greater—a movement of healing through style. I help women embrace their confidence and walk in their God-given beauty. Whether I’m curating vintage pieces, hosting fashion shows, or styling clients, my mission remains the same: to inspire women to show up boldly and unapologetically as the women God created them to be.
Blackpine Vintage Boutique isn’t just about fashion—it’s faith in motion. It’s an extension of my purpose, my passion, and my commitment to ministering through service, empowering women to step into their light with confidence and grace.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and it’s still a challenge balancing a full-time job, family, and growing a business. The learning curve—figuring out marketing, building an audience, and managing it all—has been tough. But the beauty of this journey is that it’s teaching me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of showing up—even when it’s hard.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is all about merging fashion, culture, and confidence. As a proud Caribbean woman, I infuse my heritage into everything I do, curating timeless vintage pieces that celebrate individuality, history, and bold self-expression. Blackpine Vintage Boutique isn’t just about selling clothes—it’s about using fashion as a tool for empowerment, helping women show up authentically and confidently.
The name ‘ Blackpine’ itself pays tribute to the national fruit of Antigua & Barbuda, the birthplace of my parents and the roots of my family.
Whether I’m hosting live sales, styling clients, fashion shows, or creating pop-up experiences, my goal is to make fashion feel personal and transformative. I believe what we wear can shift our mindset, boost our confidence, and even tell our story. What sets me apart is my ability to blend my Caribbean roots, my background in mental health, and my passion for style to create a space where fashion meets self-discovery.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe risk-taking is faith at work. Some of the best opportunities in my life have come from stepping outside my comfort zone, even when I wasn’t sure how things would turn out.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was launching Blackpine Vintage Boutique while balancing a full-time career and family. I didn’t have a detailed blueprint—just a vision, passion, and the faith to figure things out along the way. Taking that leap meant navigating uncertainty, investing time and resources, and learning through trial and error. But every challenge has made me more resilient and confident in my ability to adapt.
To me, risk isn’t about recklessness—it’s about trusting yourself and believing that if you take the leap, things will fall into place. Growth happens when you move forward, even when the path isn’t clear.
