Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Teed
Hi Meghan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 8, but my path to helping others with scoliosis wasn’t a straight line (pun intended). In fact, I never set out to be an entrepreneur—I just knew I wanted to help people move and feel better.
After graduating from PT school, I worked in traditional physical therapy clinics, but the fast-paced, high-volume model never sat right with me. Seeing multiple patients at once, barely scratching the surface of their needs, and feeling like I wasn’t delivering the level of care I knew was possible left me frustrated. I wanted more for my patients—and for myself—so I decided to create it.
Through specialized training and a deep understanding of my own scoliosis, I built a business dedicated to helping people take control of their movement, improve their posture, and get back to doing what they love—whether that’s lifting, running, or simply living pain-free. Today, I work with clients locally and remotely all over the world, proving that scoliosis doesn’t have to hold you back—it can be something you understand, manage, and thrive with.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—owning a business is anything but easy. In physical therapy school, we’re taught how to treat patients, not how to run a business, so I had to invest a lot of time (and money) into business coaching to figure out the ins and outs of entrepreneurship. I’m still learning.
One of the biggest challenges has been navigating everything on my own. It can be lonely at times, especially without coworkers to bounce ideas off of. I’ve also had to learn some tough lessons along the way—like realizing that success doesn’t come from trying to do things the way someone else does, but from leaning into who I am and the unique way I help people. The journey has been challenging, but every step has helped me build a business I’m truly proud of.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own Mindful Movement, a business specializing in helping people with scoliosis take control of their movement, improve their posture, and get back to doing what they love—whether that’s lifting, running, or simply living pain-free. I work with clients locally and remotely from all over the world, combining my expertise as a physical therapist with my own lived experience of scoliosis to provide truly individualized care.
What sets me apart is that I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Scoliosis is unique to each person, and I focus on giving my clients the tools and confidence to manage their own bodies for the long term. I bridge the gap between traditional physical therapy and functional movement, helping active individuals navigate scoliosis without feeling limited.
I’m also excited to share that I’m in the process of opening an in-person physical therapy and Pilates business in partnership with two other women locally—so be on the lookout for that! It will be a beautiful space dedicated to movement, healing, and empowering people to feel at home in their bodies.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating a community where people with scoliosis feel seen, supported, and capable. Too often, scoliosis care focuses on limitations, but I want people to know they can move well, build strength, and feel good in their bodies—with the right guidance.
How do you define success?
Success, to me, is about living life on my terms—having the time freedom to spend with the people I love, while also creating meaningful impact. It means having the resources to build spaces where people can connect, grow, and feel supported. But most importantly, success is about empowerment—helping people realize they are capable of so much more than they ever thought possible. Whether it’s overcoming physical limitations, building confidence, or breaking through self-imposed barriers, seeing others thrive is what truly defines success for me.
