Hi Julia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi!! Let me introduce myself!

My name is Julia Cann, and I am the proud owner of Julia’s Original Biscotti. At Julia’s, I specialize in crafting authentic, homemade biscotti using traditional recipes passed down through generations as well as adding my own spin 😉 My biscotti are made with quality ingredients and a lot of love ensuring each piece is a perfect blend of flavor, texture, and experience.

I started baking as far back as I can remember alongside my mom and grandma. Their love, passion, (and maybe there overly particular ways 🤣) along with dedication they passed on to me is the foundation of my baking today.

Today, I continue my family’s Italian legacy by offering a wide variety of biscotti flavors, from classic almond to unique seasonal creations. You can find everything from timeless recipes to new ones with a twist, so there is something for every taste!

My mission is to bring a taste of Italy to your table with every bite, making each moment a little sweeter and more enjoyable. Whether you’re enjoying my biscotti with your morning coffee or as an evening delightful dessert, I hope to share a piece of my family tradition with you.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting Julia’s Original Biscotti has been an incredible journey, but like most small businesses, it hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles was perfecting the production process to ensure every batch maintained the same quality and flavor as my original recipe. Breaking into the local market and encouraging people to try something new also required creativity and persistence. I overcame these challenges by dedicating time to refining my methods through trial and error and by participating in local events where I could personally share my passion and the story behind my biscotti. These experiences taught me the value of patience, adaptability, and building strong relationships, and I’m grateful for how they’ve shaped my business and prepared me for the road ahead.

I specialize in creating handcrafted biscotti using my family’s original recipe, which has been passed down for generations. Each biscotti is made with high-quality ingredients and a lot of love, resulting in a treat that’s both flavorful and nostalgic.

What I’m most proud of is hearing from people who usually don’t like biscotti but say they love mine because of the unique texture and flavor. Unlike the dry, hard store-bought versions, my biscotti strikes the perfect balance—crispy on the outside but still tender enough to enjoy without needing to dunk it. Many customers have also told me that my biscotti reminds them of their grandmother’s baking, which is incredibly meaningful to me. One thing that sets my biscotti apart is the imported vanilla I use in every batch—it’s a small detail, but it elevates the flavor and adds a warmth that customers always notice.

What sets me apart is my commitment to the personal touch—I’m involved in every step, from sourcing ingredients to packaging. I also focus on creating a genuine connection with my customers, whether through local markets, community events, or simply sharing the story behind my biscotti. It’s more than a business; it’s about creating moments of joy and connection through something as simple as a cookie.

What matters most to me is creating a product that brings people joy and fosters a sense of connection. Whether it’s the nostalgic taste that reminds someone of their grandmother’s baking or the surprise of discovering a biscotti they truly love, knowing that my work brings a little happiness into someone’s day is incredibly fulfilling. I also value quality and authenticity—using the best ingredients, like imported vanilla, and staying true to my family’s original recipe ensures that every biscotti I make reflects the love and care I put into it. At the heart of it all, it’s about creating something meaningful that connects people through a shared experience of flavor and tradition.
