Hi Roman, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina & raised in the rural South in a little town called Winnsboro, South Carolina, My love for music began with my mother and her beautiful voice that rang throughout our choir at UCC (University City Church) & that’s where my love for music began. Studying various styles of music like Gospel, Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B, Country & EDM inspired me to start my production company “Carolina Hitz” in 2020. Music has taken me down numerous path’s since then with being a pianist & producing/songwriting in the early stages of my development in the Carolina’s. To now Co-directing & producing content of all kinds with Carolina Hitz featuring alongside major label artists/brands like Rich Dunk, Lamelo Ball, Big Yavo, DaBaby & more ! Being dedicated to music and marketing my other companies like Romani Retro’s (My Shoe/Clothing Cosignment Shop) & The Carolina Hitz Clothing Brand which has skyrocketed beyond measure has allowed me to diversify into other spaces like modeling, commercial cleaning/landscaping & detailing with my father whom I credit my hard work ethic to. With the consistent buildout of my imprint, I plan for it to outlive my legacy in everything that I do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No road with a anointed gift/calling comes without its tests, trials, & tribulations. Some challenges I faced was the fact that as an independent creative there are limited resources and everything is entirely on you. From funding creative projects, maintenance of companies financially, energetically, and creatively can be draining. Another challenge I came across was the “Ego” & “Smoky Mirrors” that are put up to attract independent artists & drain them of everything leaving them with less than what they came in with was the biggest obstacle I faced. Success and walking in your purpose is a lonely road but one that is meant to be challenging because that is what makes the journey worth it all in the end.
