Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Stradling

Hi Kelly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, so the drive to build something of my own has always been a part of me. In my twenties, that entrepreneurial spark inspired me to create something of my own aligned around my passion for wellness and fashion, and I launched a Yoga & Pilates Studio alongside a Women’s Clothing Boutique. The businesses flourished organically, evolving and bringing a multitude of opportunities, and this eventually led me to grow by opening both a Yoga Teaching School and Wellness Retreat Business. All in all, it was a fulfilling journey that spanned over a decade, and I feel extremely blessed to have nurtured those ventures.

In 2019, after attending college in Charleston and with family ties in the area, I was afforded the opportunity to make Charleston my home. This transition gave me the perfect opportunity to pivot my career aspirations and focus. Having previously owned a construction company, I decided to focus on my love of real estate and interior design. Today, I am a real estate agent with Smith Spencer Real Estate, while I also run Cote Luxe Property which is a company dedicated to guiding clients through all facets of their real estate and interior design journey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The path in small business and entrepreneurship is never a smooth one, and I have certainly faced my fare share of obstacles. In fact, I’ve come to realize that part of what makes an entrepreneur successful is being able to constantly adapt. In fact, flexibility and resilience is seemingly a cornerstone of entrepreneurial success. Whether it’s navigating a constantly shifting marketplace, managing cash flow issues, or dealing with changing economic conditions, these challenges ultimately push us to evolve and in doing so grow.

Along the way every potential setback has come with the opportunity for me to tap into greater creativity and problem solving skills. Looking back, I realize that each challenge has truly presented a chance for growth and expansion. And by staying aligned with my team, clients, and the marketplace, I’ve seen that these moments were all invitations to pivot. And perhaps my biggest pivot was stepping away from two businesses that I had nurtured over a decade to begin an entirely new venture. Life and business is a journey, and what can I say, I’m here for the adventure of it all!
