Today we’d like to introduce you to Chasity Anderson
Hi Chasity, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been fascinated with makeup. I’d watched beauty YouTubers for hours. Paying attention to how they were able to achieve different makeup looks. I would practice on myself each day before class, as this helped me learn which makeup looks I did and did not like. I also practiced on friends and relatives, that played a major part of being able to perfect my craft. Learning different shades, which products to use on certain skin types, etc. I would advertise on different platforms to help build my clientele also. July of 2021 was the year I was able to become a full-time entrepreneur/ makeup artist. With having the freedom and time to do what I love I was able to meet amazing individuals, work with different brands, and being able to be a makeup artist in New York Fashion Week 2023 & 2024.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being one the first individuals in my immediate family to step out on faith, quit my day job and become a full-time makeup artist was not an easy task. I quickly had to learn that managing your income is very important if you’re someone that hasn’t had the best experience doing so in the past. Social media also plays a big part of how people are able to view your content and work. Not taking care of your mental health can also have an impact on your business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a makeup artist. Known for beauty, soft and full glamour makeup looks. Being able to make others feel confident about themselves after receiving their services is what I’m most proud of. I stay focus on what makes me happy, which is beauty, makeup, and being able to help clients feel good about themselves.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has been on my side once I decided to stop being afraid of what others may say or think about me and failure. With doing that, I was able to have many opportunities which helped my personal life and business.
