Today we’d like to introduce you to $aucellina Suavé
Hi $aucellina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been into the arts since a child. I was raised in dance since the age of two. I played volleyball and tennis at one point and I also played the viola for six and a half years. When I was in graduate school at Clark Atlanta University, I wasn’t really fond of my program and I needed something to feed me creatively. After I withdrew from my program and started working, I decided to get into music. In recent months, I took a rug tufting class and decided to start making custom rugs. You can see that I kind of do whatever sparks my interests—no matter how random it seems. I’m just a creative
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an artist of any medium isn’t cheap. You’re always pouring money into making quality music and videos. Even with the rug making —it costs to get started. Staying pure and motivated throughout the politics can be challenging. No matter what scale of the business you’re in—there’s many opinions and people trying to influence what you’re doing. You have to always remember to do your craft because it’s fun to YOU, because it feeds YOU. Sometimes you have to redirect and make it cool again.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a recording artist —I rap. I make custom rugs and I’m new to the acting world. I can’t say much about the acting aspect right now but just know I have dope things coming. As far as my music, I’m so proud that I have created an identity for myself. I feel like the sound I’ve created is a good mix of witty lyrical content, but there’s a sprinkle of alternative edge in there with the beats I pick. Even the way I dress paired with my music, I’m always looking forward to styling myself for my video content. I love intertwining fashion and music. The rugs I make are quality too! I try to use the best products and techniques I can to give everyone a piece that adds a little flair to their home. I think what sets me apart is that I try to make everything unique to me. I want my flavor to be something that people can tell I curated myself.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think if you’re a dreamer—that’s a risk within itself. Allowing yourself to think against the norm is always going to be met with resistance. I believe that if you want to achieve greater you have to take a risk and bet on yourself. Every creative endeavor I’ve started has been an ongoing risk. I’d much rather take a stab at something and it didn’t work, than have regrets all my life of what could have been. If it could potentially make you happy and fulfilled—try it. If it doesn’t work out—keep going man. Stay inspired. That’s half the battle.
