Check Out Isabelle Schreier’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabelle Schreier

Hi Isabelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in Germany, I started my career as a makeup artist by graduating Cosmetology school, followed by another year of studying at a sfx makeup school.
After an internship at Metropolitan Models, I became a traveling makeup artist for various Beauty brands, such as Bobbie Brown and Make Up For Ever.

I was given great opportunities, working backstage for Germany’s Next Top Model and attending a prêt-à-porter show in Paris.

My husband and I moved to the Upstate in 2011, and I was able to establish my work here.

I got signed by Directions USA artist management, started freelancing for local magazines, and also entered the world of weddings as a bridal makeup & hair artist.

It’s an honor to work alongside such amazing artists in this area and I truly enjoy the variety of work that this career brings.

I consider myself as pretty lucky to being able do what I love!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were struggles!
Even though I had years of experience, when I moved to the Upstate, I had to start from zero.
I had to get my name out, which meant doing lots and lots of free collaborations.

I am still so grateful for all the photographers and clients that gave me a chance at the beginning!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a makeup & hair artist that specializes in very natural, elegant beauty looks.
My passion lies in creating Editorial looks. It’s not very common (yet) to see that kind of work here.

Especially when it comes to my bridal clients, the majority wants to look natural, just like a better version of themselves.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That it is normal to have setbacks in your career.
You will never be able to please everyone as an artist, and that is ok.

I wish I could tell that my younger self.
