Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Walton
Hi Jeremy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was tired of corporate America and wanted to be my own boss. I have alwasy had a passion for craft beer, but between start up costs and working capital, opening a brewery was out of the question. Travelers Rest where we live already had a few taprooms so I didnt want to open a brick and mortar and further saturate the area. In doing research online I discovered the possibility of the mobile beer bar. I found the truck we are using now from a guy out in California and Haulin’ Hops was born.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Between the general struggle of getting our name out there as a start up to trouble shooting the beer system (usually on the fly with a line of people waiting) there have definitely been some struggles. Learning the permitting and insurance processes have gotten easier as I continue to do them, but the state is always changing something so its a moving target of sorts.
As you know, we’re big fans of Haulin Hops GVL. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a moblie beer/bartending company that operates out of a restored 1953 Ford. The truck has been retro fitted with 4 beer taps on the driver side to serve the drinks that the client has selected. We pride ourselves on the customer service side of things, from not only showing up on time (if not early) to treating every person we are serving a drink to as our neighbor. We really take the reigns and handle it all for you event.
For private events we take care of everything from providing cups, to sourcing the beer and wine for you and handling the permits and insurance so you can focus on everything else.
