Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca West-Remmey
Hi Rebecca, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Greg and rebecca started Devour power back in 2012. We wanted to have an artistic outlet while also enjoying each other’s As we were newly dating- We decided to start a food blog, which was one of the first to live on Instagram back in that time!
At the point of us starting Greg was a neurophysiologist and rebecca worked in real estate sales on the upper East side of Manhattan.
Just like any other couple, we were having a great time getting to know the city going out to eat on fun dates while also being on a young 20 something-year-old budget so that’s where we begin on our incredible journey with over the top budget friendly foods!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle we faced was probably the actual organization of becoming a legitimate business, which is now known as Devour Media.
This came about early on – Maybe a year and two hours posting food photos as a fun, creative hobby, When a restaurant we had posted approached us asking if we would be interested in helping them run the restaurants Instagram page! Back then, Instagram only consisted of photos so this was definitely something that was easily doable with just the two of us and we said why the heck not! We wanted to try this on the side while working our regular jobs to see if it’s something that we enjoyed doing well also making a little bit of money. Needless to say, we clearly thoroughly enjoyed it because we have now been full-time and quit our careers in 2016 to pursue our Devour Media dreams- and we now Have an office here in New York City as well as a full time team! We have had a lot of awesome experiences in the last 12 years of doing this full-time- We have had the privilege of covering major cities like Chicago and Denver and we currently cover Restaurants on a full-time basis in the the tri-state area as well as Charleston!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Devour media specializes in Content creation and contribution in the restaurant field. We are currently focused on Instagram and TikTok- 90% of what we do is video based. Our team comes into restaurants that we work with, and we film all the dishes in the making from start to finish! Our audience absolutely loves to see how things are made, especially when it comes to all different cultures that they wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to experience.
Shining a light on mom and pop style restaurants is our specialty!
What matters most to you?
What matters to us most is That everyone understands not only the need for social media for your small business, but ALSO the need for a consistent and high-quality presence when it comes to your social.
Your pages are a representation of your brand and we do our best as a team to contribute to those pages in a very consistent and eye-catching, Mouthwatering manner. With this being said because we are a contribution team we highly recommend that every restaurant has someone in house to keep up with things like Instagram stories, promotions, events, and specials!
