Daily Inspiration: Meet Jacqueline Genova

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Genova

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

My journey began when my mom was first diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer in 2008, when I was 13 years old. This experience ignited my passion for advocating an integrative approach to breast cancer treatment over the next decade. I pursued a degree in economics at Babson College, where I wrote a thesis as part of an honors program advocating for an integrative treatment approach that combines complementary therapies with conventional methods.

In 2018, my mom’s cancer returned and progressed to Stage IV. In 2020, I started a blog called WellnStrong to share the research I was doing for her and the complementary therapies she was exploring.

Gradually, other integrative doctors began contributing to the site, and my readership—and following—grew. The mission of WellnStrong is to empower readers to be well and strong in body, mind, and spirit. I believe that knowledge is power, and I encourage readers to advocate for their own health. In May 2023, I launched my podcast, How To Be WellnStrong, which has been incredibly enjoyable as it’s given me the opportunity to speak with people in the wellness space whom I have admired for years.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Certainly not, but I believe those challenges make for the most interesting stories 😊. As an entrepreneur, I’ve had to wear many different hats, often taking one step forward and two steps back. However, I’ve come to realize that the joy is truly in the journey, and I’ve learned to trust God with every step along the way. Nevertheless, I’m incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of my amazing community.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Of course—it’s certainly evolved over the years. Through my journey with my mom, I’ve started to incorporate a more faith-based approach to wellness. I believe that while we should be stewards of our bodies, we shouldn’t idolize our health. At the end of the day, the Bible says that all of our days were written in God’s book before one came to be. With that in mind, I like to remember that while it’s important to care for our bodies, we must also acknowledge that no matter what “treatment” we pursue or what “biohacking strategies” we implement, God is sovereign over our lives.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?

I had the opportunity to write a brief “interview guide” on Greenville for a start-up travel company called Safara. Here’s the link to my guide for you to check out, which highlights all of my favorite spots! Greenville is a very special place.
