Hi Morgan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m Morgan, the owner & lead planner at Morgan Williams Weddings. I’d love to serve couples by stewarding each and every detail of their wedding day!
A little backstory on how I got here.
My passion for event planning began in college at the University of South Carolina when I earned grants to create enriching experiences for underserved populations in my city. That interest in logistics and planning was later confirmed during my ministry experiences where I led the charge in planning community service trips for 200+ students. In 2020, I began offering wedding planning and coordination services to friends and mutuals as a way of serving people in my life during one of the most sacred periods of preparation we walk through as people – the wedding season.
Now, with about four years of industry experience, I provide wedding planning and event management services to couples across the Carolinas as a certified and insured wedding planner. I am the biggest fan of marriage as I believe that it is a covenantal promise unlike anything else we will experience in our lifetime. While I am all about crafting an elegant and intentional event design, my biggest priority is ensuring my couples have the emotional space to prepare their hearts for the sacred union they are stepping into on wedding day.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With the rise of social media, I fear that weddings run the risk of being turned into a giant photo opportunity rather than a sentimental celebration of two people in love. Weddings should not feel like productions, but I think the comparison game that social media can breed makes them feel as though they are at times. One of my biggest priorities as a wedding planner is ensuring my clients feel totally at peace with their plans and that they keep their eyes on what matters most — one another.
