Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Bentley
Hi Ebony, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My background is in graphic design, and at the time I worked as a Graphic Designer / Photographer for 4 years at a publication. 60% of the job was taking photos, so I decided to pick up the camera and learn what genre of photography interests me.
It took me 2 years to figure out I had a love for product photography. I had to learn a lot about studio lighting which was a trial and error. But it taught me in the midst of it all, I needed to keep trying, be consistent, make connections and pray when things were good and when things were bad.
Fast forward to August of 2023, I decided to switch my graphic design business to product photography named “The Meadow Studios” and I haven’t looked back since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not, lol. Every business has struggles, even the ones that look put together.
The biggest struggle (or lie) I believed was thinking my worth is tied to my busyness or what I can produce. When in reality I’m valuable and worthy regardless of the talent God gave me. God says I’m valuable and that’s the voice I choose to believe.
I’m not entirely sure what’s up with the rat race to always go, go, go. But there’s peace resting from the noise of life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create vibrant and playful imagery for food and beverage CPG brands…I know straight to the point.
But there’s a couple of things that falls under that umbrella. There’s Creative Direction, Prop Styling, it also could be e-commerce imagery and stop-motion. Each client is different, hence why you want to ask a ton of questions upon the inquiry.
What I’m most proud about? I would say, making my clients happy and not quitting what I love to do. Which is working as The Meadow Studios.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Actually, I’m working to find one myself! So when I have an answer, I’ll definitely fill y’all in. 😉
