Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Childs
Hi Brianna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up as an only child in the South, so I took on many hobbies, playing outside and creating inside. I started by learning how to play multiple instruments and taking a fascination in cameras since my dad was a photographer. Then, I took interest in making designs on all my clothes, which I’m not sure my mom was ever upset at it. The best part about growing up with creative tendencies was that I was hardly bored. In trouble, sometimes.
I later took my childhood interests and made a career decision in college to be a graphic designer. That skill has translated into multiple pathways for me, including starting my own design business, having my chance to work in corporate, and creating my own clothing brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was pretty smooth for me as a child, at least externally. I always had what I needed, and I hardly felt unloved. Still, I had my struggles with anxiety and depression that followed me into my early 20’s. God blessed me with a loving family and solid circle of friends that make an impact on my life daily. I can’t complain at all.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a very creative person, so I won’t bother labeling myself any other way. I see similarities in the world all the time, as well as qualities that make people and places different. I feel like I reflect that in all of my work, be it designing clothes or painting. As my main source of income, until I become a known singer/songwriter and producer, I make a name for myself by being an independent graphic designer. My biggest compliment from companies is that they love my creativity and “impressive” portfolio. I’ll take their word for it. It’s all art to me.
My company is called BC Creative and I deliver all graphic needs, from website building to brand identity, to SEO and digital marketing. I’ve recently added music-specific services. You can find my work at brichilds.com and bccreative.pro
What does success mean to you?
I love this question because it implies that the definition of success is subjective. I feel successful when I’ve just created a song that sounds amazing and reflects my feelings exactly. I also feel successful when I make someone happy. I think our measure of success is determined by whether or not our purpose is fulfilled, for our lives, or just for the day. Of course, money makes the world go ’round, but nothing can be measured by it. It’s only a means to make more room for the possibility of success.
