Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello, I am Raven Bess the Owner & operator of cRaves Catering. cRaves is a luxury catering business where we provide over the top catering services. I (Raven) always had a passion for cooking. It all started out in 2019 with me selling $10-15 soul food dinners out of my apartment in a very small kitchen selling out each time. I was 19 years old & I didn’t think that Catering or being a private chef would be in my future. I was kind of “OK” with what I would say would be the bare minimum back then. Now as I’m looking back I really transformed my passion for cooking into a thriving luxury catering business. Starting from humble beginnings inside of my apartment and now creating unique, over-the-top events showcasing my dedication and creativity. 9/10 when I arrive to clients home they aren’t there and that right there speaks volume of trust! My ability to build trust with clients, even in their absence, speaks volumes about cRaves professionalism and integrity.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the very beginning It was definitely kind of rough. I’ve had to learn some things along the way. While learning I also had some invaluable experiences through the challenges that were faced in the early days of cRaves Catering. Mastering the timing and logistics of meal preparation and setup is very important & it’s really impressive that I’ve managed to handle everything on your own thus far. I am looking ahead to building a team which is an exciting prospect! I can only imagine having a group of dedicated individuals who share my vision. This will not only enhance my ability to provide exceptional service but also allow room for more creativity and collaboration within events. Fostering a strong team dynamic will surely elevate cRaves to new heights.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a caterer and also a private chef. My approach to catering and private chef services is truly remarkable! The distinction I make between catering for larger groups and providing intimate private chef experiences adds a personal touch that many clients will appreciate. What sets me apart from others? Mmmm, I would say Creating content while engaging with my clients. Not only does that showcase my culinary skills but it also builds my relationship with my clients & forms a connection that can be very appealing to potential customers. (My clients are my family!!) My commitment to putting my all into every event reflects my passion and dedication, making each occasion memorable.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
My talent and opportunities have the luck in my business. Bad luck would sometimes be my anxiety. I pray before each event because I know in life some people are hard to satisfy but lucky I haven’t came across any clients that weren’t satisfied. I don’t plan on it but if so it would ground me and also build my confidence.
