Conversations with Tiffany Carpenter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Carpenter

Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Esculent Arrangements, LLC was incepted in 2018. The idea first began while employed at my current job at a local hospital. My office would have several functions and I would provide the fruit and vegetable platters. I developed my skills while being a produce clerk at a grocery store and I enjoyed crafting the fruit and vegetable platters, cups, and bowls. A few of my co workers complimented my creations and asked if I ever considered starting a business. Up until that point, I had never thought about it. I contacted a good friend of mine who is a successful entrepreneur and asked questions for a greater understanding and the rest is history! I got to where I am today by always believing in myself and knowing my vision would one day come to fruition. I’ve met some wonderful individuals who have been instrumental in my success and provided me with so much inspiration, knowledge and guidance. There were moments where I struggled and was uncertain but with prayer, perseverance, and passion, I was able to grow and build my business just as I’ve always envisioned it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey of entrepreneurship has not been a smooth road. Shortly after graduating from my third business class in 2019 the pandemic hit in early 2020. I had no idea how this would affect me and I decided to pause until everything was somewhat normal again. Then in June 2021, I endured a devastating home fire and my family and I lost almost everything. I had to take each day at a time and work on being the best version of myself during that difficult process. I had my first wedding catering job about a month after that incident and I just focused and provided exceptional customer service despite the set back. I did have to learn to walk by faith and not by sight because my vision for my business was not what I saw in reality at times. I had to stay focused and encouraged to keep going no matter what.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a very creative individual. Most of the time, my ideas come to me while I’m sleeping, driving, or somewhere that I don’t have access to write my thoughts down. I am also detailed oriented and have a keen eye for details, which I am known for. I love to study pictures and create a variation of something that inspires me. I am most proud of my ability to combine all my skills and design set ups on the spot. What sets me apart from others is my perspective in which I see things. I listened to a video by Myron Golden and he said something that resonated with me well which is I quote “If you’re mind is blind to the possibilities, then your eyes will be blind to the opportunities. I started taking this approach and achieved several goals.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson that I’ve learned along my journey is to always believe in yourself and stay consistent. There will be moments where you may feel defeated and even question if entrepreneurship is for you. Always remember fear and faith can not occupy the same space. You will endure uncomfortable times but this is where you will grow. Grapes have to be crushed to make wine, seeds grow in darkness and diamonds form under pressure! Lastly, delays are not denials. Everything happens in divine timing.
